ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
I agree its the breeding not the bread, that said I have been bitten twice by dogs want to guess the breed? Both times I was walking my dogs (on a leash) and the pits were out roaming free, when I tried to keep the dogs apart I got bit both times. This was with two different dogs by the way. Now I carry bear spray when we go out for walks. It could have happened with any breed but my situations were with pits.
Now that said my friend has the nicest pit you could hope for but he spent a lot of time training her and it shows.
In the end i say they are not a bad breed but attract bad owners.

My girlfriend works in a veterinary clinic and she is more afraid of getting bit by little dogs/toy breed than larger breeds. Like I said a dog can only be as smart as its owner

Hey shithead! I will have your dogs laying at my feet in an hour. I am a great dog owner. I understand why the do what they do. If you would read my post again, I said nothing demeaning towards how I treat my dogs.

Whoa, a little outta line there man. As others have posted, APBT's are bred to be good with HUMANS and have aggression toward other animals, as they were meant to be hunting dogs. I've got plenty of books on them if you wanna come over and read up, and i'm not just taking offense because I own an APBT myself, I was once lured into all the media hype on these dogs, but after raising my little cuddle whore PitBull from a pup, and my brother doing the same with two of his own, I can attest that these dogs can be just about the best family dog you can own, and the most loyal too, if not a bit stubborn at times :p

Don't get me wrong, I love pits but anyone can say this. Also, you're not going to take a pic of your dog all pissed off and going crazy are you? Of course the pics are all of them being good so they really do nothing for the sake of the argument. Anyone who says they aren't an impressive, commanding, and gorgeous dog I will say is wrong however; that's worth arguing, nice looking dogs guys!

Yeah I think its ugly too. I also think if you need to get your dogs ears and tail cut off then YOU should have to get your ears cut off FIRST.

Agreed.. this is a thread about a little girl being killed by a pit, why post pictures of all your pits in the same thread, isnt there a thread already for that. I agree that pits can be great dogs and it's all about there up bringing but come on guys theres a time a place for everything and posting the pictures of your dogs here isn't it.

"Hey shithead"?? Get it straight Derek. You said you'd have his dogs at your feet, I said I wouldn't let the Pit hater anywhere near my dogs.

I have a neighbor across the street from where i live. Leaves his gate open all the time. He has two pits and they have charged me several times. I tell him over and over to put them up. Animal control will do nothing. Each time they charge they get closer and closer! I am afraid this is going to happen with these two pits!

I posted earlier (might have been in this thread) about a Malinois that was doing the same thing whenever I walked my dogs past his place. I was at the end of a cul de sac and there was no other way around that house. Again, cops and animal control refused to do anything about it for a long time.
I took to carrying my pistol with me whenever I walked the dogs, but when the time came I had a clear clean shot at him, he wasn't attacking, and I couldn't bring myself to kill him.
