Nothing wrong with that. If u don't hard core off road and want the look and still drive old dirt roads and go fishing in some remote areas that are not rock climbing or anything just need 4x4 for the.mud and crossings.

but you can get to all those placs and still have a good looking truck with a basic lift and 32" tires lol.
hell I wheeled my truck harder than any of what you're describing with nothing but 32s...

drop bracket will always be for looks to me. and its a look I find really ugly lol. but to each their own.

I honestly wish I had done some more research on TacomaWorld before purchasing my truck. I knew I wanted a double cab in Quicksand, but wasn't aware of the differences between TRD Sport and TRD Offroad.

The local dealership had built mine and it had the wow factor to me. I really liked the looks of the hoodscoop and it being a 6" lift on 35's. The lift might be a bit overboard considering the type of offroading I do could be accomplished in a stock height 4x4. I love my truck even though if I could do it all over I would have bought a stock TRD Offroad and added a lift myself. Oh well, you live and learn. At the end of the day my truck is more than capable for what I need it for. I am also not going to do hardcore rock crawling in a brand new truck that I plan on keeping for quite a while...

    Thank you.

Appreciate it. Going for a new alignment tomorrow and I'll try to take pics afterwards. The before and after really aren't too drastic as I stayed within 1/4" of the ride height with the OEM coilover and the BDS spacer.

Well actually you are just regurgitating what you have heard other equally ill informed people say. I hate to squash your drop brackets don’t have as much ground clearance bashing party with facts and evidence...but yeah the facts can be a bitch sometimes.

Fact = that all other factors being equal such as amount of pre load etc a drop bracket has in fact more ground clearance than a well built 3” truck with full skids. Top photo is a fully built Long travel truck with skids, bottom photo is a bone stock 6” lift. See how in the top photo the OE LCA mounts and skids hang down 1 1/2” below the LCA ...now look at the drop bracket lift and see how the drop bracket is level with the bottom of the LCA...yup facts can be a real bitch...the drop bracket has more ground clearance.

Next, your statement about flex is bullshit too, you want photos of a drop bracket front end pulling more travel than your precious 3” lift too ?

I have the 6” BDS coilover suspension w/dsc and I wheel my truck. Maybe not hardcore rock climbing or anything, but I flex it pretty hard. My stock Tacoma Offroad was actually pretty damn good. But with the 6” lift and the 35x12.5 tires it clears everything way easier.

Now, I definitely do not have a dog in this fight, but isn’t comparing clearance of a truck with skids to one without kind of an apples to oranges comparison?

Full disclosure I have no lift and stock size tires, I just like reading about new topics.

Are your coilovers at “out of the box” height or did you crank em up any?

Fox told me 2.08” of exposed threads above the collar. I’m at 2.15” passenger side and 2.25” drivers side. I adjusted them off the truck with a compressor.

Nope, if you added skids to that truck in the pic it would still have more ground cleareance. Look at the pic again and look at the relationship of the LCA mount to the bottom of the drop bracket and compare that to a stock Taco even with an OE skid. Most folks ragging on drop brackets such as him are assuming that a fully built 3” truck has more ground clearance and is infinitely better for off-roading etc...and what built 3” truck doesn’t have skids ? So what I’m driving st here is that a drop bracket mall crawler actually has more ground clearance than a built up skidded off road truck.

They said it was preloaded for the height it was adjusted to out the box, so I left it.
