    I voted LS 2wd, looks good so far. 4wd LS will work great but you’ll need to get it to sound like the 4 to be a true sleeper.
    What will be needed up front to carry the extra V8 weight?

    I can post 2 pictures of 4cyl before it was pulled and v8 with Tacoma holding the weight after bouncing it and it looks like it’s over an inch higher with the LS

    Wait and see after it’s all back together? The V8 probably weighs 150 lbs more, not sure on the transmission weight difference.

    Truck is up and drive able now, need to clean it up and replace intake gaskets. Will get speedo hooked up and hopefully all the other wiring soon

    Older pictures, original driveshaft just had it shortened and added a weld in yoke for the transmission.

    Hmmm...
    I’ve only know / seen LS swaps in first gen 5 lugs. Guys who do 5 lugs bolt in Ford 8.8 from Explorer’s.
    Believe it or not they literally bolt in just need to open the hole a bit for the pin in the leafs on the spring perch for the 8.8 from the Explorer. I think if you want there’s a mount or two that can be cutoff for a cleaner look. I understand it’s about 1/4” wider then the first gen 5 lug 7.5 rear end.
    There’s a couple guys on YouTube that show builds from start to finish.
    I’m trying to find someone that’s local who I can sell my URD Supercharger System to, then have a shop I found do an LS swap for me in our 15 5 lug. (I don’t have the tools or skills!)

    Getting it installed and running is the biggest hurdle. Your front and rear diffs aren't going to like the HP and TQ of that 5.3.

    6 lug here. This is 2wd. Boom taco can you explain your statement please? Hayrider, I’m cool with a little Chevy in my truck but not so into putting anything Ford in it lol

    Sorry, thought you were swapping into the 4wd.
    Your rear axle/gears aren't going to like the 5.3. It will definitely break.

    U think a stock 5.3 is making THAT much more than a boosted 3.4 like most people use stock rears with?

    I've blown up multiple 8" gear sets and a locker with a 22re.. Anything is possible with enough skinny pedal and an LS..
