    If that first part is a fraction (6/2) then the answer is 9. If the / symbol is meaning divide 2(1+2) by 6 then the answer is 1. So I guess it depends on the intentions of whoever wrote the problem. They should have just made it look like a normal fraction with a horizontal line but I can't figure out how to do that with my keyboard.

    Dude, you read multiplication/division and addition/subtraction in the order they appear in the equation (left to right) after you perform the equations in parenthesis and the exponents. :p
