I was sorta "forced" to get the tech packages or I'd be waiting a long time for the truck....which is still the case lol
This is what the build sheet reads for the Premium off road package:
Includes leather-trimmed seats with heated front seats, auto
headlights, moonroof, Premium JBL Audio, Dynamic Navigation with 3-year trial, Remote Connect with 1-year trial,
Destination Assist with 1-year trial, and Service Connect with 10-year trial.
    $3,815.00

I'm not sure if mine needs to go by rail or not. Someone else might be able to chime in here. It would be traveling around 550 or so miles up north so not sure if that helps or not.

Yeah I'm getting tired of waiting, about to go buy a prius.................not.

I have a OR that had a 07/05 build switch to 07/06. It’s still in the ‘production confirmed’ stage with no indicators of movement or build.

We saw some mention of the 7/5 or 7/6 build dates being held up as well.....hopefully you're not in the same black hole as us 6/4 gang.

Just got a call from my sales guy. He’d just talked to their inventory specialist who said they’ve got 6 trucks sitting in Baja (including mine) with no info and no timeline whatsoever. He urged my salesman to call me and offer some alternatives that were just allocated to them. So I have decisions to make…

I can wait on the 6/4 Build with no ETA. Or I can switch and hope for September arrival on one of these new allocations.

Original and new options are all OffRoad 4x4 V6 Double cab. All very similar in price.

    Original:
Red, long bed, with tech package (blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert), bed mat, blackout emblems

    2 new options:
    - Lunar Rock, short bed, no tech package, bed mat, blackout emblems, mudguards, tailgate insert (which I think essentially blackout the Tacoma on the rear tailgate)
    - Red, long bed, no tech package, bed lighting kit (don’t care about) but no bed mat or blackout stuff

Interesting that neither of these have the tech package. I’m planning to call my sales guy and ask if any of their allotted OffRoads do have the tech package. I love the BSM and RCTA alert for safety reasons, esp going to a truck from a much smaller and more nimble vehicle. Guess if I went for the Lunar Rock short bed, that’s easier to park.

I chose long bed originally because it was what was available on the build that was closest to what I wanted. Though clearly it didn’t end up being that “available” after all!

Lunar Rock is definitely appealing especially because it seems pretty rare and well-liked (planning to keep it long term, but resale value is always a benefit). I haven’t seen it in person, so I don’t know first hand what I think of it. But it might do better in the heat here in Southern Arizona. I do love the Barcelona Red, though…

Gonna post this in the main “how long are you waiting?” thread too. I know this is my decision to make but thought typing it out and getting feedback might help me clarify what’s most important to me. Thanks for any thoughts!

After all this limbo I just hope we get clarity on why these vehicles aren’t moving. Last thing I want is a lemon.

07/05 - 07/06 build date with no movement.

Another week and I may look for a different allocation.

Welcome to limbo! At least we’re not alone. And you and I are waiting on very similar trucks.

I’m currently debating abandoning my original deposit (on the 6/4 build) and going with another allocation, hoping it would arrive sooner than the original. But man, it’s a gamble! Wish we knew more info about the delay. If it’s just time, I can be patient; but I do worry there’s a problem with the build or something.

That’s reassuring what you heard from your dealer, though. Hoping that’s true.

In my experience anyway I had to activate the trials to get the notifications. I believe that’s how it works overall. Note that most of us didn’t get notifications for a long time and have only gotten one or two, so you might activate trials and not get notifications for a while.

That’s awesome, congrats! As you’ve probably seen me post, I’m currently talking to my sales guy about switching from my original deposit to another allocation. Partly hoping it would arrive sooner than the original. But more important, concerned about lack of info on why the limbo. If it’s just time, I can be patient; but I do worry there’s a problem with the build or something.

Trying to decide what my must-haves are for potential new allocations vs my original order. Tech package (safety features)? Long bed or short? And color - original red, lunar rock, or white? Army green is an option but I just don’t like that color for some reason.

Exciting - hopefully it means there’s some progress happening with your truck. :fingerscrossed:

Do you have to have a permanent vin (no letter in the last six digits) to check statuses on the Toyota app? @WestCoastSkiTaco

I think so. I have a permanent vin, a 6/27 build and no movement, nothing with the app either.

I think so. I do have a permanent vin (no letter in the last six digits). I kept seeing everyone talking about notifications, the app, etc., but put my vin in and wasn't getting anything for a long time. Then one day i got a notification through the app, so seemed like it worked but the interface is not particularly intuitive in my opinion.
