    Bump!

Haven't had a chance to take it in to the dealer yet. Anyone else have problems with their Factory stereo system?

My single CD player did the same exact thing. All I get is an ERROR message and it spits the CD back out. I've just been using my ipod. Annoying though

I have a factory 6-disk, but never had this problem. Is yours the JBL? I'll keep an eye on this thread for a solution (or you get the stealership to fix it), in case mine goes bad one day.

I think the only JBL units are the speakers and not the actual cd player/changer but tell me if I'm wrong. I also have the JBL system and when I first bought my truck brand new, the radio didn't get reception. They had to replace the whole unit! I get an error as well but thats a few of my cd's that are scratched up like crazy so I don't think the cd player can read it.

The head unit for the standard system has an amplifier onboard to the unit. The JBL system uses an amplifier that is mounted right next to the sub woofer. The rest of the head unit changes very little from both systems other than that.

I would let toyota dig out your CD's from that head unit. if you don't really know what you're doing to run a good risk of just scratching the snot out of all your discs.

And its uasually easier to just replace the entire unit if something is screwy that can't be fixed in less than 30 minutes, at least for dealerships. I just bust out my magnifying goggles and my 15watt soldering iron and go to town.

It looks like the speakers do not change (at least in resistance value) between the systems.

The door speakers are rated at 4ohm and the sub is a 2ohm DVC running in parallel.
