Hey guys! I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road and I'm thinking about lifting it 6 inches. I'm new to the whole truck thing because my family isn't really into it. I need help deciding on what lift (brand), coilovers, and shocks to get. I currently have a 3-inch (ReadyLiftKit) on it and I drive the truck daily. The lift would most likely be just for show since I don't any offroading. Guam's roads are pretty bad though... there are potholes, random bumps, sewage cover holes, bumpy gravel, and dirt roads. The truck is mostly driven on the highway (if that makes a difference). Thanks for your suggestions/advice in advance.

Six and eight inch lifts are a uniquely American thing. It's like our hamburgers make it so tall that it's impractical and bad for you.

OME lift and that's it. Theres a reason why you don't see people taking trucks with stupid sized lifts in the bush

6" lift for looks only stick with BDS or ProComp or Superlift. Rough Country will get the look you want but it's crappier compared to other kits. If all you care about is look you can get a full 6" lift without major welding or cutting. What size tires are you trying to fit? The ride quality and performance is always better with a 2.5-3" true suspension lift with new coilovers, leaf springs and Upper Control Arms. This is what you sacrifice if you want to save money and just get the look. You can achieve the look rather easy. Won't be true wheel travel clearance but it will look super dope to your everyday person that doesn't know a thing about OffRoading or Overlanding or Rock Crawling.

IMO 2 -3 “ lifts look great on these trucks without sacrificing ride integrity when done right. Good luck and do what you want to do.

Yeah my 3" 2" spacer lift from Supreme couple with some 285 75 16 MTs give it a dope stance: (it's not a quality ride like 3" coilovers and AAL)

Unless you take the time and expense to relocate driveline and brake components, you will have problems. 6 inches is more involved than a simple bolt on swap.

That sounds dangerous, and is illegal in some states. Not to mention the added wear on drive line components. But it's your truck, you're welcome to do as you please.

Bottom line -- if you want a 6" lift. Get it installed by professionals that have a great reputation for their work. Your money, your truck, your decisions. All we can do is give advice from our own trials and errors

3” is more than enough. As you pass 3”, reliability and practicality drop precipitously.

Save your money and do it right. Get King, Fox, or Icon. People are always about going cheap here for some reason. But three things you should never go cheap on is suspension, parachutes, and condoms.

Actually very doable. Just stack four 6" lifts.

Do your 6 inch lift, just make sure you plan on keeping the truck, few people want 6 inch lifted Tacoma's,and nobody will give you an extra dime for it in a sale, trade in forget it.

Yep, it would actually affect the value in a negative way.
