Personally, i would never buy a modified vehicle. Unless i know exactly who built it and quality parts were used.

You also dont see icelandic trucks in the bush, different terrain calls for different lifts. a 3 inch lift is not going to perform well in a mud bog compared to a 8 inch lift.

Would I get a 6-8 inch lift? no way, but I dont go mudding.

I have owned 4 lifted toyotas. Quality parts/kits are the key. I have had zero issues with any of my lifted trucks. My last Tacoma, running 37s. No pulls, no shake. People who bash 6in kits are victims of cheap parts, cheap labor or ignorance. Drove my 6in Tacoma 2200 miles (pulling a boat) in 5 days. Smooth as glass. .

OP, don’t mind the replies you get. TW is like your neighbor hood Mormon group. They will try to force their beliefs on you even though you’re clearly not into it.

OP clearly said mostly highway, minor crappy roads and such. Just do your research on what kit/parts to get.

All you nay sayers, what’s it to you?

I had the RCD drop bracket 4-5” lift on my old 2015, it rode like stock or better. As far as wearing out your components, it no worse than a 3” lifted Tacoma.

Would I do it again, probably not, as I go through vehicles quickly and it certainly does not help resale value. Beyond that, it was awesome, just buy a good quality lift and have it installed by professionals.

PS, I hope you understand that part of the frame is cut out for a drop bracket lift.

Biggest problem with 6" is the quality of parts, like other say, go with coil overs.

The big ass blocks with drop brackets ride like crap, but I usually don't see too many issues.

I have seen a simple accident write off a frame, it buckled from how the diff hit the car. But this is part of the risk.

My problem is you need 17 or even 18" for some of the kits and big tires, and the costs can get crazy out of control.
