That looks like some Brotastic Socal shit right there. I used to go to the desert in my 2wd... to haul my quads. My buddy and I used to sit on ridges in our quads and watch trainwrecks all the time...
Though I have a feeling with my 4x4 taco now, I'll be that train wreck

The reason everyone bags on DB for offroading is because of the DB itself. The middle of the truck is high, but the DB itself is sitting 2" higher then a stock tacoma. That can get in the way with rocks. If your style of offroading involves climbing over rocks, the drop bracket could get scraped up and possibly get knocked loose. You may also weld the DB to lessen the chance of that happening.

I've been doing some research myself for the past few months as I am looking to get a 6" lift but make it more offroad capable. This is the set up I am looking into installing as a 3" is more for very serious, who cares if it gets scratched and dented offroader. I mostly adventure on mountain roads and rarely go over rocks.

For the front, BDS 6" lift, with extended length King coilovers, Total Chaos regular length upper and lower control arms with the heim pivot upgrade designed for 6" lifts, dual shock hoops with an additional King shock being used, Pilfrey front bumper with the skid plate and a winch.

For the rear, 6" Alcan full leaf pack with Orbit-eye to allow full flex, Rear extended length King shocks, King 2" bump stops, extended length break lines.

In addition, one-piece drive shaft, 4.56 front and rear gears, 35"x12.5" tires, fiberglass fenders front and rear to accommodate the larger tires, Pilfreybilt rear bumper.

I was checking out every DB out there and decided BDS was the best for me as they offer lifetime warranty, and they include a skid plate. Fabtech's spindles are super bulky and has huge turning stops which limit the turning radius compared to all other DB. This set up will cost around 10k, but if you like the looks of a 6" lift, and you are not an "extreme" offroader, this set up will handle very well on the trails.

Well I put.my truck.to a little limit today climbed a waist high boulder n was surprised

So I was actually thinking about taking off my body lift n going with a 1" instead.. but I have everything extended for the 3" n don't have none of the stock stuff to put back on that may be a problem.. someone said that I may a spacer on my coils. I don't but there are adjustable n cranked about 2"..

I'm gonna be Putin air bags on my truck soon I really hope it dosnt restrict my travel.

I made sure to check all my body mounts None of them moved or shifted.. any one have experience with airbags n the travel of the rear axle I ent wanna loose what little I have ..

Y u gota hate like that for good for you that u think a stock truck could walk up that yeah after u bent all the bumper cause it couldn't clear it n for it info my friend tried with his first gen n couldn't get up.. I'm not saying day my truck is bad ads not even close I owned all str8 axles before this one n it would have been simple for them but that was the first time I flexed out this truck. I thought it was alright for a mall crawler. Lol don't need to hate cause it's 60 degrees in the snow then I went down to the beach.

Over 3 inches of lift screws a lot of stuff up that you have to play around with (brake lines, angles of everything, etc.).

Yes there is snow in Hawaii. There are two, maybe more islands that have mountains tall enough to get snow. One is on the big island, Haleakala on Maui migh be tall enough but I thought there was another mountain on another island.

Hmm, this is actually really cool. I know the islands are all on hot spots which create their volcanoes but didn't know about the snow. Thanks
