I'm thinking of putting a 6" on my 06 4cyl 4x4 access cab, but I've heard rumors of this motor being too weak to turn anything larger than 33's with stock gears. Any truth???

Depends on the size tires you are going to install and also your drving habits/conditions.

check out the tire size calculator up there under Mods/tutorials at the top. it shows a table for which tires run best with which gears. that should help you decide. be advised though, your gas mileage is going to suffer with lower gears and and bigger tires.

but it will still look BAD AZZ.:D
