    Sir, you read my mind.

I had my dealership order me a manual DCSB and I'm glad I did for all the above reasons.

My '10 is a 6 speed and I've had zero issues and love it. I've also had guys at the dealership in N. Cal say they are REALLY hard to find and hold their value better since Toyota is making fewer and fewer each year.

Of course I wouldn't know any better, never owned an auto in my life....

The aftermarket now makes a shift kit for the Aisn Warner A750E .
Its unfortunate the auto needs additional valve body tooling to make the transmission perform properly but according to the manufacturer of the kit , it does take care of vibration complaints .
It would be great if if Aisn Warner listened to these guys .

So I figured it would be better to thread-necro than it would be to create duplicates.

I'm looking at a new Tacoma and am wondering from a durability standpoint if there's any issues with either trans (6-cyl). I've heard about the TOB on the manual, but haven't heard if it causes them to fail eventually or need a new clutch.

I've been driving a Subaru STI for the last 3 years and am very comfortable with a stick. I know of the general benefits like engine-braking and holding gears for corners (more than likely hills while towing in the taco)... So there's no need to dive into all of that. Just wondering which one is built to last longer between the 6spd manual and 5spd auto for the 6-cyl engine.

Manual transmissions do break, the synchros can wear out, 1st gear usually. I had a '78 Toyota 2wd, the front countershaft bearing broke. I heard of that happening with that transmission.

I like manual transmissions. I was disappointed the 6 speed wasn't available in a 4 cyl. regular cab. But maybe that was good.

Haha, loved my 2015 Kitt eversince I got him brand new from the dealership 7 years ago. 6 speed manual transmission, double cab and I've been a proud owner. No problems 71k in it and I had some few modifications. Running board, bull bar with LED lights and led low/high beam, also with LED fog lights. Only a few more interior installation left for this bad boy of a ride..
