I can get on the highway set cruise to the speed I want and never have it shift. None of that gear hunting nonsense. It's super effective on smaller highways at 55 or 60. Put it in forth set the cruise and it will run for a tank of gas uphill or downhill never once shifting.

I’m at the dealer today for oil change on my 3rd gen. Dealer has a 2024 base model with MT. So tempted to pursue this one. I wanted a MT, but didn’t buy until December 2023. There were none available.
hmmm I like this one. MSRP is $42,000. 10k more than I paid out the door for my 6 cylinder. Yikes. The more I type…the more it doesn’t make sense.

Do you know how much torque the manual is producing at 1700 rpm?

Yeah if I was driving my V8 4R with adaptive cruise I'd HATE it. The 5sp can't figure out which gear it wants to be in (hopefully a regear makes this less of an issue) and the cruise isn't quick enough with the throttle to commit quickly to accelerating to things like changes in slope, forcing the issue harder to the point it might downshift to 3rd to catch back up to speed when it has enough torque it should never have needed to leave 5th, let alone 4th.

Small aside: I was sold on adaptive with the CVT Honda Civic my ex bought: That thing made 12+ hour drives half as fatiguing cause it was just always in the right gear, at the right speed. Talking with a friend who has an F150 Powerboost with adaptive cruise, the extra power, gears, and response seem to also help it choose gears and not get whiplashy about inputs. The TTV6 hybrid certainly has the low end ass to drive it back to speed quickly. She regularly drives to Peoria IL from Knoxville TN for work with zero complaints, it literally made the 1week a month in IL tolerable. My 2020 Miata and my 2017 Taco were both manuals with dumb cruise and both were OK, but I definitely preferred the Civic if fatigue was ever a question. I'm not rich enough to buy vehicles that new again, but if the tradewinds shift and I can get into a truck I like in manual with any version of Radar Cruise you'd need to physically hold me back to stop me from buying it.

I use the iMT with the adaptive cruise with my manual and it smooths out the whole shifting process when traffic slows to a less than ideal rpm for the gear im in. I could be wrong but I think thats why it has that feature.

Apparently MT is more expensive here in US as well. The SR MT is about $1,100 more MSRP than the AT. Same trucks at the same dealer.

This is my dealer for those SRs. The one on right is the MT.
