The fact that Jeep put a Manual in a all new truck gives me hope that the next Gen Tacoma might still have it.

Are there rumors that manuals will be discontinued? I certainly hope not.
And 48k for a Gladiator out of my range.

I think you can get lower trim level Gladiators for less. Thankfully no rumors, but if they would decide to cancel it would be when the next Generation comes out.

stick is only available in a stripped colorado, and it's probably not a good stick anyway.

Tacoma is obviously the best option for a manual truck with a V6. There is really no other choice.

Honestly, the transmission in the tacoma itself isn't all that bad, especially after new fluid and a short throw (though it does have weak synchros that tend to grind). It's the rest of the super clunky drivetrain that really lets the 6mt down.

The Tacoma manual is fine for what it is, a light truck. It's not a sports car. If you're expecting it to drive like a Miata or even a Honda Civic stick you're going to be disappointed. Just drive it and get used to it.

Now, my 78 CJ5 with the three speed manual, that was a clunky hot mess to drive. Or my 73 Suburban. Damn shifter was like 3 feet long, third gear was over by the glove compartment somewhere. But put that thing in the granny low first gear and you could probably pull a house down.

It is a nice setup, if you have driven any prior Toyota truck then this is buttery smooth compared.

I’m really thinking all of these new annual record Tacoma owners come from the Honda Civic and Prelude forums

I WILL have one by July 04. It's just a matter of how far I'll have to drive to get it.

Sometimes Dealers will do a trade with another dealership, they have gone 300 miles to trade for a Manual Tacoma for me.

My synchros never grind, never heard anyone say that about 3rd gen MT. If yours grind you must have a problem.(driver or tranny itself) If your drivetrain clunks everytime you drive, you need to learn how to be smoother with clutch and throttle(remember its not a small car)

I would love to take you for a ride in my truck and you will be surprised how smooth it is and barely any clunking, without any short shift or fluid change. I can go fast or slow and still it will be quiet and smooth. Everyone who gets in my truck say it feels like they are in an automatic truck.

Not sure whats happening with your MT man. Good luck.

I have never had an auto tranny and don't want one. Actually, I don't want some computer programmer/engineer telling me when to shift. And, somewhat cheaper to replace a clutch than an auto tranny.
