I drove a manual for a long time, and of course I loved it. That being said, the 2nd generation manual isn't as well regarded (anecdotally) as the automatic. Secondly, it's a lot less hassle to do offroading and crawling with an automatic. When I bought my taco I got an automatic because: I wanted to tow with less hassle, offroad, let people drive who cannot drive a manual, and because where I live the traffic makes a manual an absolute nightmare.

I'm over 50 years old. Old guys are not allowed manual transmissions...Or sharp objects while drinking beer.

Personally I wish I would have waited for an auto to show up on the lot. But, IMO, trading a vehicle for something else just because something else is blingier/faster/cooler/newer/easier etc unless I have had the current vehicle for 7 to 10 years is stupid. Just my two cents with no idea how long you have had yours.
