Irreversible lift that weakens the frame! Sign me up! (some people weld it for strength I get it, most do not)

    more like completely for looks.
If you were looking for actual performance and wanted to fit 35s for wheeling you'd be going long travel.

I gotta give OP credit though. We can't say search since 6in is new. Most of the time its 4in lift lol.

Seriously though you won't find much help on mall crawler status here.

That serves no purpose other than looks, puts stress on powertrain and other components to fit associated wheels and tires, etc. Sounds about right....

As to the 35" tire's width and rubbing issue, there will be trimming done to clear it, like any other trucks trying to do a 6" or higher lift kit.

why not just go 3in lift and 33 KO2s?
Bro status comes easy with that.

Seriously this bro mall crawler trend isn't common here for tacomas only jeeps. So I'm away from that crowd here.
But is it just constant competition who can be more bro than others?

Is this what one does when they are proud and want to advertise that they have a small penis?
I mean I know you can't just whip it out in public so is this the acceptable way to announce it?

6'' lifted TRD Off-Road that wont leave the pavement lifted for looks...

There isn't a lot of love here for what your trying to do and thus a lack of members who have gone this route with their builds. Like I said BDS is probably your best bet, or talking to some of the guys in the Hawaii region thread. Most here would steer you clear of the 6'' "bro" look we term it here for a whole slew of reasons, you even mentioned worry free, lifting your truck is never worry free, lifting your truck 6'' WILL at some point cause some worry.

In a way many of these replies are positive.
Your ride will be terrible, you'll have shit performance without regearing, and a bunch of vibration issues among others.
Anything over a 3inch lift is just asking for problems and you'll be spending $1000s fixing said problems.
And going 4in+ is often irreversible.

Joe23, Unless you can persuade me as to why 3" lift is the way to go, i might change my plan, instead of using "bro status".

you realize if thats in the bed you're already nearing the max payload right?
And towing with that kind of lift will be terrible.

Dude I don't even want a lift look. Like I have the fox kit (not installed yet) I know its good for 3 but I'm trying to go as little lift as possible without running too much preload as I do not care for lift look. I just want the extended travel and a little more clearance so if I eventually want to run a 33 I can. For now I'll just be running a 265 70 17 just under 32.

    • reversible
    • keeps some comfort
    • doesn't destroy the truck
    • much cheaper alternative (especially since you just want looks not performance)
Seriously dude if you just look through threads the 3" lift looks nice with a 33inch tire. At least then your truck won't become a pile of shit to drive.

Not to mention PERFORMANCE, you can get far better quality components and capability out of 3'' suspension components than 6'', especially a zone off road setup.

I certainly do not want any post installation problems. I am aware i need to do more research.
I appreciate all your inputs! Thank you!

There are quite a few rough country 6" kits on eBay for $1100. It's your truck and money so do what you want and don't listen to some of the people in here drinking the hateraid.
