Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Good god I hope I am physically capable of doing my own maintenenance for some time to come. Jebu$.

A question comes to mind....how will dealerships of electric vehicles rake in cash on servicing vehicles in the future?

A:. Nitrogen in the tires to help reduce rolling friction. "Inspect battery and service as needed". Antimatter based lube for various motor parts - this is $10,000 a litre (we are metric now!) and requires special certifications for disposal.

I would feel better about if I was getting a brake job in there for my $1850+ canadian... but no such luck. Its the spark plug charge that is crazy. There is no way they will spend 3.5 hours on 6 plugs. Plus the cost of the plugs would have been halved if I bought them myself. That is why I posted... to help other TW folks and tell them to bring their own plugs if they go for that service.

Do people still bite on brake and injectors flash services?
Tacoma fluid changes are easy to do, including AT drain/refill.

Little of this, little of that.
Do you have a part number for the PCV valve? Having trouble finding it for some reason.

Don’t bother. Just lube your chain. The nitrogen will cut your time by 0:01 per 10 miles. Long physics explanation. LOL just kidding. Hopefully you lube your chain. I have been riding road bikes since 1984 and my bike is silent when I ride. Ridley Noah with Reynolds carbon wheels and Campy Chorus. I see triathletes on $5-10k bikes with squeakie chains. But if you’re on TW you might be one of the two triathletes that actually lubes your chain.

So I had my local toyota dealer here in grays harbor service the transmission at 64,000 mi and I told tech to put into his notes that customer wanted to know the condition of trans fluid. So when I picked up my truck and they told me that trans fluid looked almost new still that made me happy . I did do a coolant flush at 115,000 which ehh long as there is brand new coolant in there I was happy . I service my diffs and transfer case myself with amzoil . Now I highly recommend servicing the transfer case more often than the diffs . I was running royal purple in my transfer case ,but switched to amzoil recently. I really like the squeeze bags easy to apply makes servicing less of a mess. Now as of today I need to service my power steering, which Im gonna take that to my friends auto shop he is a jeep guy but loves my tacoma .

    Interesting fact:

The air you and I breath and the air that is put into our tires is 78% nitrogen.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
What makes you need the plugs changed? Do they measure over gap? Cracked porcelain? 82,000 on mine and color is nice, gap is spot-on.

Just because it was recommended for the 96k (km) service.

The maintenance schedule for my 2014 calls for every 30k miles. I just did mine for the first time at 65k miles and they looked great. If you're pulling the plugs to inspect and gap them, why wouldn't you just put in new ones instead of re-using the other ones?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
It’s called out as a 60k service item. In the manual.
Ps - they are easy to do and you don’t need to remove the intake.

I'm coming up on 60k, and was curious about the spark plug service. Typically if I can do (or can learn to do) a maintenance item then I'll do it depending on the headache to dollar ratio. Called my dealer up to see what items needed to be done @60k & they only called out the typically oil change & multi-point inspection. When I asked them about the spark plugs specifically they said they'd contact me if any further service was needed.

I'm bringing it in anyway for some recall items, & I guess we'll see if they end up making the recommendation for that service. Just seems odd that they wouldn't recommend it right off the jump if its part of the scheduled maintenance.
