With a totally different platform startup it is to be expected. There was a slow roll out, plus still ramping up production. The XtraCab’s are just now hitting dealer lots for an example.

July ‘24 vs July ‘23 the numbers are quite close.

I was thinking the distributors and dealers weren’t ordering as many loaded Tacomas due to the prices. It seems they are mostly ordering SR and SR5.

Oh well that is just dumb of course they are down. They will ALWAYS be down for any and every car company new roll out model. I guess if someone wants to dig (I don't because it is futile) you should all be comparing Gen3 Launch first 5 months vs the Gen 4 launch months. That is apples to apples, not comparing last year Tacoma sales of a completely older Gen to a new Gen roll out.

Since I am in the market, noticed the local dealers have a lot more SR5 DCLBs than they usually carry. Used to be mostly DCSB OR or Sports. Guessing since the XCs weren’t quite ready, they typically had a bunch of Access Cabs on the lot, but now are doing the DCLBs to make up for the lack of stock is my guess. The DCLBs used to be somewhat rare here.

Could be. However the SR5 with the upgrade package is one of the better "bang for the buck" if someone needs a commuter that can haul. Now, you can pick up an OR for similar, but no options.

There's bare bones SR5 options, but I see most at my dealer with at least heated seats. Seems to be popular option here in the Northeast.

Noticed the same, SR5s with options, not many ORs on the lot as of now, the ones they do have are low or no options, and only a couple grand more. Makes more sense to buy the OR.

They do have a bunch of higher optioned ORs being delivered here in a couple weeks. Believe it is more of a production issue than a funding thing.

I should have been clearer on my post...I was referring to the premium packages when I said premium trims. Not referring to the OR and Sport as premium trims.

It would be interesting to see which configurations sit the longest. I don’t think any of them are sitting long. The 3rd gen used car prices are still silly high here.

Prices are darn near identical for SR5 vs OR here, would have to compare the option sheet, the locker alone makes the OR the better buy.

Lots of white ones. I'd steer clear of those myself.

Was originally going to buy a SR or SR5, after comparing trim levels the OR seems like the best deal out of all of them considering what you get.

I held out for the SDM, worth it? Many say no.. I’ve used it twice in 7 weeks. Glad I have it.. BO was my first color choice and there were none to be found with SDM. You’ve got a shot at both :curls:

Are you referring that there is a waiting list at some dealers in Pa. to buy late model used 3 gen. trade in Tacomas?

Thinking about trading my 2020 TRD Sport which is immaculate with less than 10,000 on her. Might soon be a good time to shop? I dunno. Really on the fence this time around.

I hope it goes down 100%. Toyota needs to realized that they Fcked up !!! The only thing that Toyota had better than the other brands was reliability. And that's gone. (It has been going on for years) I'll get a Colorado or a Ranger for cheaper and I bet to say better looking.

Nobody’s stopping you.. But I must say the GMC looks far better than the Ranger or Colorado! And I hope none of them go “down” cause I’m not sure how a pickup could do that

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Been driving Tacomas for 18 years straight. I bought new, other recently. Simple, Reliable, Affordable is long gone at Toyota. Those are the qualities that I liked about them. I am not the only one.
