Content (ing) seems to be part of the issue. Even when I bought my 2019, I had to scour the lot looking for a truck that wasn’t over upgraded and even then I still had $1,000 worth of add-ons. The early roll out seems to have a lot of add-ons and costly packages added to, as we all know, inflation and interest rates, brought to you by inflation, and so forth and so on ad infinitum…

I also think hitting the $50k mark is a bit of a psychological threshold. Just my .01

Definitely agree. That's why I was happy to have been guided to a dealer that let me opt out of the bloat, and the only reason the $50K mark didn't stop me was the trade value/equity I had in my Tundra made it a much less painful situation.

I really wish more makers would simplify and just offer what consumers want in the standard model. Usually they are very savvy at knowing what one feature people want and locking that up in a package that includes a bunch of crap that’s not wanted. Of course, I am my own worst enemy in that since I never have the patience to order and wait and instead end up scouring what’s available. At least now you can search all the dealer stock online. I remember back in the day calling one at a time.

CarsGurus is showing 252 Tacomas within a 50 mile radius of me. Some on this link are listing about $3000 dollars off MSRP. A few months ago when dealers were trying to get rid of their remaining 2023’s I got an email from my dealer saying $6000 off MSRP. It will take a huge discount for me to give up my V6 4x4 Access Cab with Premium Tech Package. Plug in your zip code and see what you find.

Full MSRP and above in Southern Arizona plus the inevitable long list of preloads. I expected nothing less from dealers around here.

Shows a lot by me. Checking smartpath shows that they are all in allocation or transit. Zero on lot at the closest dealer.

The North East still has very few Tacomas available.

This is why I like Lil Kenny videos. Shows what is actually sitting on a dealer’s lot near me.

I rather see V6 in the new truck than TT I4 or Hybrid.

with the new tacomas its the first time ive seen trucks being parked on the lots near me not being sold. with 3rd gens they were almost always sold before the tires even rolled off the trailer and even then i thought the 2023 tacomas were getting out of hand price wise.

Send your complaints to the EPA, I'm sure they'll change the emission regulations back right away.

    113 Tacomas.

    48 4x4

    4 Off-Road packages

0 With the OR Upgrade or OR Premium

So, I'd be outta luck here. Fortunately I got my truck last Monday and it was worth every penny.

Edit: Jeez, I'd have to go over 400 miles away before I find an OR Premium. Even then it's black. Yeesh.

If I were in the market today for a PRO and I wasn't dead set on a 6MT I'd be Ranger Raptor over the PRO all day long.

Sorry, I should have added a "/SARCASM" to that.
