BOW! I think I need one of those mini guns! :D

Just revamped the 870, different shells, different choke, and a saddle mount with a red dot scope on it. Of course I had to modify the saddle mount :annoyed:since the sure shot stock fore end didn't clear it properly and the ejector and feed ramp wouldn't work. Now that I did some changes, I probably won't see another turkey!
Also just got done modifying the riser for the jet, needed to modify it down to 3 1/4" rise and go from there, the top mounting holes will be in that riser. If that doesn't work, which it should, then it's on to a jack plate, shouldn't be a problem since many other guys run the risers on their boats.
I didn't think I would need a riser or a jack plate on a 20" transom with the jet, now I'm glad the guy I bought the jet from gave me the one that he had along with the motor.

Jets are a whole different ball of wax. Once set up you won't need to touch it. Just getting it there will be the fun part.

    Morning all:
That's what I've been reading Mike, seems they can be finicky when it comes to where the foot should be in relation to the transom. Outboard jets recommends to start with the leading edge of the foot level with the bottom of the transom and go from there, guys are saying 1/4" can make a difference and you need to raise it little by little until you find the sweet spot. From reading, some are level and some are up where a straight edge off the bottom of the transom is in the middle of the leading edge of the foot or as far back as where the grate pins are. ????? Like you said, trial and error will be the fun part, now I need to slot the riser to be able to move it up if needed. A jack plate would be the easy way to go, but don't want the 5 1/2" setback if possible.
