    Morning all:

    X2!

They MAY not be lying, when we fish for the walleyes in the river there are different techniques we use to catch them even with the same lure on, then again, they may be handing you a line of bull!
Sounds like time to fish for the stupidest fish in the lake!

Second time I heard this! When my buddy and his BIL wanted to make their spring trip to Lake Ontario he said the lake was 4' higher than normal, that was also just posted on Walleye central, it takes a tremendous amount of water to bring a lake that size up that far.

I caught the stupidest one two weeks ago. ;)
Our lake was 3' below normal in May and now is at normal. Lot of snow melt.

The band catered to the younger crowd who apparently don't appreciate good music like the Hokey Pokey and Chicken Dance. Heck, they didn't even play the YMCA.

If they did I missed it. The band was super loud and mixed with the conversation noise was overpowering. Just another sign I am old.

They could have at least have played Elvira so my wife and othe mature chicks could do the Electric Slide.

Oh boy. I'm completely useless in those situations. All I can do is get up and go somewhere else. If you're talking to me you might as well stop because I'm not hearing it!

I understand completely. It seems ironic that I can be hard of hearing and still find some music offensively loud.

Heh. I've been wearing hearing aids for 27+ years. One of my big surprises, way back when I got my first one (I wore one for a few years then went binaural), came when my audiologist told me that hearing loss makes people *more* sensitive to loud sounds. Ain't getting old great?

Morning all:hattip:. I've had tinnitus and moderate hearing loss in some ranges (mostly in the wife's voice range LOL) and find that even without my hearing aids (only wear them when needed) loud noises (in any venue) causes the tinnitus to get worse until I get to a quiet spot to let it calm down. That part of getting old really does suck. But on the other hand it's good for a laugh sometimes when I think I heard the wife say something that was all together different then what she did say:eek:.

I just had a thought, here we are in the 60 thread and talking about hearing issues (I'm sure we have other maladies as well) but in the 50 thread, they are literally falling apart . All kinds of problems. Visiting them ( a great bunch of folks ) leaves me feeling good:thumbsup::).

    Morning all:
Ken, I also have tinnitus for probably about 45+ years. It started when 2 of us were shooting .357 Mags and never went away. Only time I really notice it is when I go to bed and everything is quiet, having a fan running helps and it's not as noticeable. I'm sure I have some hearing loss, but for the most part the hearing is pretty good.
We went up to the river yesterday with Jims boat, he got 1 small walleye and 2 channel catfish, I got 1 smallmouth bass, that is not good! It seems like all the years of good fishing are manifesting into 1 year of horrible fishing! By now we should be in the 3 figures for walleyes, we have a grand total of 5, and Jim caught all of them! :notsure:

OH, there's a first time for everything!
When we got there, there were two senior ladies walking down the launch ramp who then proceeded to get into a 14' deep V boat with a tiller motor that a 3rd lady was already in waiting for them. I would say these ladies were mid to late 60's, and 1 may have been 70+.
While we were fishing we could see them casting for fish, I have never seen that and could only think---good for them!
HUMMM, at least I think they were all women, never know today!

:hattip: Good Morning Cool Old Dudes, and Susan. :)

    IKR ... ;)
I think it says a lot for the toll physically demanding jobs take on ones body. I see a lot of young men in the air transportation business who have all kinds of back issues, etc, in their 30s and I wonder how they'll manage when they get to their 50s and 60s.
Makes me glad I got into the planning, coordinating, and managing side of the business when I was young (22yo) after my first hitch as an aircraft maintainer. :notsure:

:sorry: About the fishing, Carl. I hope it's not a long drawn out trend.
    :fingerscrossed:

Truth be told, I think most of my hearing loss is from shotgun use w/o hearing protection as a kid. But those four years on the flightline, use of hearing protection was loosely emphasized at best, didn't help none either. ;)

^^^^Yep, bad back, bad shoulders, bad leg, hearing loss, I earned most of that in aviation maintenance. As Sly said in a Rocky movie, "the older I get, the more I have to leave behind." Sounds good, wish I had a clue what it means, lol.
