I think he was trying to say all the physical things he used to be able to do are left behind due to age. Who knows? But Stallone said it so it must be true. ;)

Susan, congregation must have been bad all week, or was it just the music?

Carl, I can relate to the .357 Magnum cause and effect situation with hearing loss.

I got the bright idea to take a deer with a pistol, more accurately a revolver. Took my rifle and 6" .357 revolver into a shooting house with plans to use the rifle if a nice buck showed up or the .357 if a doe appeared. Sure enough a doe came into the food plot and approached to 25 yards ( stepped off later). She then turned broadside and began feeding. I laid the barrel of the .357 on the window sill, took a good aim right behind the front shoulder, thumbed the hammer back and touched off the shot. It sounded and felt like lightning struck my ears with terrible pain and a feeling that my ears were stopped up like a swimmer with water in their ears. The pain was better the next day in one ear, but the other ear hurt for about 3 days. Note to self; never fire a revolver/pistol in a shooting house without hearing protection. From that day forward my hearing has been impaired and I have tinnitus. There is a sound in my ears was like the sound of a cicada or as we Southerners call the "locusts". Don't know if cicadas live in Pa or not.

On a bright note the doe dropped in her tracks much to my surprise and relief as I expected to do some tracking having used a revolver instead of a rifle (usually a 30.06 or .270 in those days).

    Evening all:
We have the cicadas here and we also call them locusts.
I had ringing in the ears after shooting before, but it went away and no worry, after that session it never did!
Wow, sounds like you really had an experience, nothing like you described happened, just the ringing that didn't go away.
Everyone says ringing, it does sound more like a cicada than ringing.

    GOOD Morning all .
Some churches are putting an upbeat to the music to try to inspire younger folks to go to church. Not a bad idea, but what is all this noise doing to everyone's hearing?? My problems started in the service. Working with ordinance and running shooting classes at the range and not wearing ear protection:eek:. .38's, .45's, M-1's. Then it was work at an auto parts( Budd Company in Philadelphia) factory for 30 years and now it's pay back time for all of those years of abuse .

    Morning all:
FINALLY got to run the boat with the jet on it, seemed to be at least pretty close to where it should be. No water shooting up the transom and it wasn't like a slug from the motor being too high or too low, and no leaks from drilling the transom! :woot: It ran right at 20 mph fully loaded and with 2 of us, expected maybe 25 but I can live with 20.
We took it up to the river and I STILL DONT HAVE A WALLEYE THIS YEAR! :( :annoyed::notsure:
No pics., too busy trying to catch a walleye, plus I forgot the camera as usual!!!!! :p

I'm sure my work didn't help my hearing any, but those churches can't be good for anyone's ears. Although it didn't seem to bother anyone but me.

    morning boys Ken, Carl

    Morning all
Glad the jet swapover worked out well.

:sorry: about the elusive Walleye this year. :(

Doing PHX visit instead of Whisky Gulch works out with no regrets as the marine forecast for Cook Inlet this weekend/next week has some 8 to 9 ft seas in it.
Randy and the rest of our crew may take another shot at Copper River instead. :notsure:

LoL ... you know, I've been around boats since I was a kid; my dad had first a 17ft Wellcraft Center Console, and then a 20ft Wellcraft Step V ... I handled them both in 10ft seas on the Chesapeake Bay as a teenager ... regardless of the size of the boat, anything over 6 ft seas just isn't fun. Even when the boat is big enough to handle it, it just ain't fun.

Welcome Opa5, pull up a chair on the porch!
Also, congrats. on the new truck.

    :) Remember the FREE battery?
Well, it's been about 8 wks., and no check! Called about a week ago and the lady said she would get back to me, called again yesterday and she said she would check on what is going on. Well, she just called and said the warranty department didn't receive a receipt for the amount to reimburse me, AHHH- yes they did!
She gave me her name this time to direct it to her, hopefully that will solve the issue!
NOW: The funny thing is that I also had to submit the paperwork twice for the last battery, just like now, and also had a name the second time around just like now! I was kind of expecting this after the last time, and am wondering if it is now SOP for anyone still using the warranty.
BTW, I will get reimbursed, one letter/complaint to the FTC and I guarantee Sunoco will pay up, I still have all the original paperwork where the FTC made the ruling that Sunoco will replace the battery for as long as I own the car! :) :)

I'll bet cash money it's their SOP; probably be surprised at how many don't follow thru on the initial submittal. :(

    What Mr. MQQSE said...
They hope that you will either forget or decide it's not worth the hassle or have lost the paperwork, etc.

Off Road models. Did you get it because you wanted to, or that's what the dealer had? Or, just better suspension? Of course I wanted a manual tranny.

I wanted the Off Road 4wd and was surprised that the TRD Off Road came in 2wd and 4wd I also wanted the DCSB so it would fit in my garage. The DCLB is too long to fit.

Wanted the auto tranny especially at boat ramps.

I looked at a F-150 first, could get special pricing thru work with a corporate arrangement, but the truck would be too tall to fit in my garage, I'd have had to get another garage door opener I guess to pull my door open a few more imches. Besides, my old Toy was so good and the Ford got too poor a mpg. Loved it's power though.
