    Evening all:
Too hot here yet Gary, we usually wait for colder weather.

:annoyed:Spent 3 hours today picking sticks and branches out of the yard, AGAIN, and I'm not done! :(
A storm went through last night and made a mess for me to clean up.

How do you like that target Mike, like I said it worked for mine.
What type of scope, mine has a "speed ring" on it and if you are dialed in for the speed of the arrow it's pretty well dead on at all the ranges once sighted in at 20 yds.

Awesome shooting Mike! There went your alibi.

Carl, I know what you mean about the heat and especially the humidity down here. Our annual rainfall in Mobile is 67 inches and we may exceed that this year.

I will likely wait until October to sight in my rifles. So much more pleasant outdoors then.

The live oak and red oak trees around my house drop twigs, small limbs, and leaf clusters almost year round and any wind makes it worse. I feel your pain.

Target is friggin mint. Compound and cross are no issue. Arrows pull out easiely
I have the other behind but don't need it. Using it for support. That bag is heavy..

Scope is a Ten Point 3X milti line.
No speed ring I guess. Never heard of it lol.
So I'll have to re arrange my back yard for 30 and go to the second line and see what happens.
I really can't see going more than 30 yards as it is accross my property line.
The noise and flight travel time may be an issue out that far. Dono
But I need to get compound bow skills up. Muscle memory is an issue and if I get it just right it's in the bull. Then I'm off on the other two. I waver a lot. I can blame it on old age, bad shoulders, and to much coffee...lol

    image.jpg
I got 2 in then a flyer earlier but I can't go more than a dozen shots. Support arm reminds me of all the years I killed myself for nothing.

    Still a dead deer!
Yea, forgot to mention that bag is heavy, just put it on a wheelbarrow to move it around! :D
I read on the Excalibur forum that you can make a good target out of old jeans and other clothing by really packing them tightly into some type of sack, some guys say they are as good as anything you can buy.

    That'll work!

WTH, another collision involving a Navy ship and a merchant vessel, looks like 10 more sailors may be missing. :(

I don't know ships etc. but I would think that they would know they were going to be hit and evacuate that side of the ship to the mid ship or something. I know there is something about abandoned post etc but......

I was in the South China Sea June 1969 when the HMS Melbourne hit the USS Frank E Evans mid ship.
Spent seventeen days in the Philippines trying to figure that one out. Clear moonlight night ,not a cloud in the sky.

When I was in one of our fleet ballistic missile subs ran into a undersea mountain, little different than a surface ship but was also wondering how the heck can that happen! I saw the damage/hole in the bow when they put it into our floating dry dock and raised it out of the water.
Couple years back another sub ran into an uncharted ridge, it doesn't happen often but it does happen!

Just watching, the eclipse is starting, wonder how many people will end up with eye damage, I'm sure there will be a few!

 sixtys/wannabes/Susan. I set up my trail cam to do time lapse so I can see the weird shadows during the eclipse. Naturally the clouds rolled in about 10 minutes later.

Our power went out Saturday night and didn't come back until late Sunday. I don't even think about what the generator cost anymore, I just smile and hook it up. A lot of the neighborhood has them now so it gets noisy sometimes but eh.

Looks like the merchant ship ran into the Navy Ship. I am beginning to wonder if these collisions are intentional.

Could be intentional but I would hope the Navy is trained in avoidance. I guess now they at least should be expecting it.

While on the Forrestal on a med cruise, we had a minor collision with the ship that was refueling us. No one was hurt (other than some pride) but there was some damage to both ships and aircraft on the flight deck. That was back in '71. This was a mechanical failure in the rudder mechanism(so we were told). Kind of makes one wonder how safe our seas are especially with the cruise ships:confused:.

    Morning all:

I thought the same thing at first Tom, sure looks like these Navy ships are getting lax since "multiple" enlisted men were charged with dereliction of duty.

Nice shirt Ken, I need one that says "I need to go back to work to get a rest"!

    Evening all:
Dang, was notified by another buddy this afternoon that an old hunting and fishing buddy had a stroke. At least he's still here and in ICU, so depending on the severity of it hopefully he will be good to go after awhile.
Wishing all the best for him and his family, guess :fingerscrossed: and  are needed when something like that happens, and then can only hope for the best.
