back again! gotta get off this contraption. punched in-impala clock, just to see what's listed on E-bay, almost fell out of the chair. universal clock available for only $1,199  . glad I have 3 of them; the orig., a replacement when orig. stopped working, and a brand new one. this stuff is getting way out of hand. even worse: when I kick the bucket, someone will probablly buy them at the auction for $2. think the most I paid for one was $20!
didn't buy a new one at carlisle that was $85. thought it was too much, but that was years ago. OHHHHH!!!!!

Glad you got it for a good price Carl...I hated when you pulled out the idle adj. screw and it had a step on it from overcranking it into the metering block:eek:...if you need any carb parts etc. a buddy of mine has the name of a guy in Doylestown that he's been using for years...highly recommends him:D...years ago I remember they had a fix for the metering block holes that were damaged by an a...hole over tightening the screw...it involved drilling out the hole and using a slightly larger taper on the screw...I'll see if i can google it...:)...Ken

    Good morning Jim.

I built the two doors for the recycle shed yesterday. Need to paint them this morning. After that I have about 4 errands to run then paint the shed if the shed is dry. We had close to an inch of rain yesterday.

    DSC_0002_b4577723b3a90f1c650a92efdb9cb60b261617f2.jpg

I did not put the traditional X in the lower half of the door. I thought it might look too odd.

The TSA frowns on tools being carried aboard planes, even in checked bags.

Whenever I had to fly and needed my tools I usually FedEx'ed them to where I was going.

It should not be an issue but you cannot lock your bags. Even my basic tools would cost over $1500 to replace. It would take close to 2 months to receive payment if the airlines misplaced them. I cannot go that long without my tools.

Now that makes sense ... hadn't thought about the "misplaced" angle. I'd do the same thing. Thanks for explaining... I'm coming up on the end of my night shift ... so I'm not the sharpest right now. ;)

Thought I would post this here as many of us are former, active, or retired military.

I received a package today from one of our deployed Air Force Airman. I send him my issues of AutoWeek once I finish reading them. Well today I received a great thank you gift from Greg, the deployed Airman. Three cans of soda and a Central Command Mug.
This was a fantastic gift and made my day today.

    DSC_0006-1_6007cb8eb39b61c2daf3e8f4c32993aa7ca60653.jpg

When I was deployed back in 1970-71 I remember guys getting comic books from home. Everyone on the barracks read them as they would always get passed around. I have sent AutoWeek to our guys deployed overseas in the past and todays GI's do the same thing with them as we did in 1970.

What is really nice, Greg and I met a few years back at a meet in Michigan.

This will make the weekend all that much better.
