When I was on the USS Zippo(Forrestal) it would take forever to get "care" packages from home...getting cookies, cakes or other food stuffs was a crapshoot in getting them cause somebody seemed to appreciate them more:rolleyes:...Had the missus write "New Underwear" on the box and it worked:D...those were the days!!!! Good morning, all!! Jim snagged me and told me to get my ass back here! i've been reading - just haven't felt like I had anything of value to add...but Jim also reminded me that this is the internet and value isn't required.

I've been working on my dissertation proposal - finally got my draft proposal finished and sent to my committee chair. I've got a long way to go but that first 3 chapters was a huge milestone and momentum shifter.

On Wednesday I have my final interview for the President's posiion at Lackawanna College - where I am now the executive vp. Down to the final 3 so this is it. Wish me luck!!

I love the collection from the deployed airman. Having been trained in Arabic, I always love seeing US logos translated into Arabic. Cool!

Quiet weekend here - the cold will keep us indoors other than some running around to pick up some things we need. Luckily, there's football to watch!!

Best of luck with landing the new job. You will be in my prayers on Sunday at church.

My son plans to take one of the soda cans into class on Tuesday and show it to his classmates.

All I have to do is hang the doors on the trash/recycling shed. I finished painting it yesterday. It was colder in the afternoon than in the morning.

Thanks, Tom! That's going to be one classy trash/recycling shed!! Our weather was the same here yesterday - warmer in the morning and then the temps dropped steadily and we got some snow and freezing rain. Not enough to plow - just enough to be a nuisance.

Morning everyone! It's a balmy 7 deg F here in northeast PA with a light wind that just bites through your clothes. The dogs were happy to come right back into the house after their morning walk.

I received my dissertation proposal back from my committee chair yesterday afternoon - the proposal is actually the first three chapters of the dissertation. I was thrilled that: (1) she liked the proposal; (2) she mad only a few changes/corrections and; (3) she told me to make the fixes, send it out to the rest of my committee and prepare for the defense. This is really great news and much better than I expected!! Woo Hoo!! I might just finish this sucker!!

Another day of relaxing today - going to watch the football games this afternoon. And, tomorrow I have the day off to complete the rewrites on my proposal!

morning all: got a small deck extension made, and fitted, for the jon boat. had to tweek it a little, but it was really close. :yay: if I would have messed up :annoyed: it would have been a lot of wasted time, and almost a half sheet of 1/8" aluminum. still have to put a seat mount on it, and cut a hole to be able to stow stuff under it. then there's the front and rear floors. hope the darn thing dont sink from all the extra weight. as always, too many projects!

Well the project is finished for now. I have a few little pieces of trim to do in the spring and I may correct a mistake I made with the doors but for now it is finished and I like it.

    Enjoy.

I like the shelf. Glad I thought of adding it during the planning stage.
