Raining some the last couple nights here in Kalifornia, snow level is still high. Don't know where the rain went with the frozen ground.

Stay safe Mike. Boston is being hammered. The meteorologists are saying this is the equivalent to Hurricane Sandy that wrecked havoc on New Jersey a few years back.

Wow. There were pictures of Boston where the waves were crashing into the homes.

    Morning all:

It's amazing how those "flurries" can accumulate! Seems like there is a lot of if's, and's, and but's, when it comes to weather forecasting.

I'd like to have a job like these "weathermen/women." Big salary and all you have to do is "guess" and be right part of the time!

Nope, no jumping in the snow for me. By the time you get out your body temp is above 100 so it really doesn't feel bad - plenty of time to dry off and head in the house before you feel the cold. We start most mornings with 15 minutes in the spa - it is an amazing way to loosen the muscles and the aches and pains of "older" age.

    Afternoon all:
You are doing that all wrong Mark! When we hunted Maine we took baths in an ice cold creek and broke skim ice on a pond to take a bath in there, must admit it felt good to get back in the warm cabin!
You do what you got to do! :D
Actually I think I would have prefered your method better, you look too comfy and in no hurry to get out of there!

Clicked on the Chevelle pic. Mike and browsed, some NEAT STUFF, I did like the cartoon also!
Looks like an old pic. of the Chevelle, you own that back in the day?

When I was a teenager our church group used to get a "free" weekend at a retreat. We did maintenance work around the place to pay our way. The camp was closed for winter which meant no hot water. A true cold shower! But I never jumped into an ice cold lake, pond, or river. I think about it once in a while though. Doing one of those polar bear things with a bunch of other loonies.

Speaking of sore muscles: I replaced a shower door this weekend. I feel like I've been in a fight! Sore in places I forgot I had.

The job took two days. Day 1: pull the old doors out -- 20 minutes; make a couple of custom wood blocks for the new installation -- 1 hour; clean the old caulk off and give the shower a thorough scrubbing -- 6 hours. Old caulk is remarkably tough to remove.

Day 2 was just a matter of following the instructions. The last job was caulking, which I just plain don't like doing. Thank goodness it's done and drying. Should be ready for use tomorrow. My wife thinks I'm some kind of wizard for getting it installed without borking anything up -- I guess she doesn't remember me putting the *first* shower door in 25 years ago!

Snow isn’t the issue. It’s the cold. 2 weeks below 0
