This week I am mentoring my son on interior painting. He is painting the built out basement in my cousins home. He is doing an exceptional job and learns the more complex aspects quickly. Now if I can help him realize that a lot of force on the brush and roller is not needed. Painting is more of a finesse thing.[/QUOTE]

Years and years ago, while working as a laborer on a construction job, my boss had me help a painter for a day. Learned quite a bit from him. Amateurs try to squeeze every bit of paint out of a roller before loading it again. Wrong!

Exactly. Do not roll with a quick motion, do not press roller to the wall with excessive force, do work the roller up&down, back&forth, and on the diagonals strokes. Start about a foot and a half from where your last roll ended and work back to the old roll and also expand on to the new area of the wall. Your job will look a lot better.

    Evening all:
Got to ask again Mike, you may have missed it.
Was that your Chevelle back in the day?
I had a decent 66 SS 396 body that I was going to drop a 427 into., decided not to and got rid of it.

    Yes it was.
66 ss small block 350 Chevy disguised as a 396.
    Would pull the front wheel.

I would have still had it except my mom put me through school and I had to help somehow.

They are still available, at slightly inflated prices! :D
Not too long ago a guy I knew had a pretty decent 66 SS 396 with a 427 in it, he passed away and a local body shop owner bought/stole it for $6k. He had a couple of brothers that had told the wife that if anything happened to him they would like first crack at the car, nope sold it without even contacting them. :frusty:

Running nose, sneezing, allergies I hope, not a cold coming on or the flu. Not any worse today. Or better. No fever, too early normally for allergies.

Itchy eyes too, so that makes me think allergies already. Have never had a flu shot. I jog a few times a week, hope that keeps my lungs clear.
Have been trying to get someone on the Coleman Collectors Forum to make a reverse stencil so I can put lettering on the tank for my Coleman model 1 stove. Seems I have someone now who will do it for cost of shipping and padded mailer. Other offer didn't look like he was going to come thru.

    Good morning all,
I'm doing good, no flu or cold, gotta be allergies with the mild weather. Went backpacking a couple days ago with the 65 pound pup. Less than an hour hike in. Snow in the area but mostly clear in the area, down to 34 degrees in the morning. Good trip. Repo found the vertebrae of another deer I'm guessing, so he had something to play with around dinner time and the next morning, tore up the country running around with it. Funny, I was watching him, he buried one joint after another around our camp.
Finally predicting some snow here by this weekend.
    Duane
