I went to the "celebration of life" service for my friend's daughter yesterday. Interesting church and service, not like anything I've seen before. The "church" wasn't really a church but more like a medium sized business location. It had a 3-story parking garage next to it, to give you an idea of the size. Inside there was the equivalent of a rock band on a stage, called the "worship team". They played songs and they and the parishoners "worshipped" by singing along. That was made easier by giant screens with the words on them. Screens also showed the band members playing, camera operators were working and somewhere a producer was cutting to/from different angles. It was a real production. Like a concert. There were preachers too but they only spent a couple of minutes talking. Mostly it was music.

About 20 minutes into the event the rain started to come in torrents, and the power went out! Emergency lighting came on but the cameras, screens electric instruments were silent. Everyone kept on singing anyway. It was a strange, wondrous moment. Eventually the power came back and it was full concert mode again.

Glad to hear that it was a good(different) service for the daughter.
Hope your friend and his family are doing okay. Losing a child takes its toll on all. Positive thoughts and  for them.

Just curious--I haven't been in this forum before, so I don't know if my question has been asked. Since I am well past the 6 decade mark, I assume this forum is aimed at my age group. But I am also past the 50+, and all the lower numbered ones. Should I be reading them also?

    :)

The fiftys are too chatty for me. I do read the 40+ occasionally. Warning: the 40+ folks have an entry test.

As Dave said, the 50+ are too chatty. Nice group over there even got a few young ladies. I drop in from time to time, but can't figure out how people that are still working can spend so much time posting on TW:confused:. In a days time you can be 4 to 8 pages back. Can't keep up.:)

Greetings, everyone! Still too wet to cut our grass yesterday...so after completing a few projects in the AM I spent the afternoon at our pool soaking up some sun. I'll cut today and then head to the pool. :)

I have a hard enough time keeping up here let alone trying for the 50+ page. Great people here, though...excluding me, of course.

I don't remember if l mentioned (old timers disease) that we were building a privacy fence for the back yard? But the poor fence guy hasn't been able to work all week.Spent all day yesterday catching up and will be back today.lf he gets done today with the fence itself, then next week he can build the gates, but more rain in the forecast..

    Morning all:

I see you have the flint set just off the frizzen at half cock, that's exactly where I set mine, some people like it just touching the frizzen.
And of course you need to fill the pan to the top with 4F, don't laugh, I've seen that already, talk about a delayed fire  :laughing: !!!!!

And, of course, as a retired Army guy, you have to shoot the military version, too.

I'm scrounging around for a cap for the new truck, the 95 had a Snugtop on it when I bought it and I needed to replace it when the "frameless" back window blew out, bought a used cap for it cheaper than I could replace just the window, then found a 1 yr. old used cap for the 99 Chevy truck, then found a used cap for the 09 Tacoma. All these caps were like new and about 1/3 of what a new one costs, hopefully I can stumble onto one for the 18, if not I may need to bite the bullet and buy a new one! :(
Good find on the ARE cap Bill, they are definitely most handy. I prefer Leer, but if an ARE popped up I would probably be happy with that brand also.
