Good advice. Should be directed at 20 year olds especially.

NAW, most of them I ever talked to said they might not live long enough to see pension, only time they start thinking about it is when they do!

    Words of wisdom!

I could apply this analogy to my exercise and diet habits i.e. if I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of my body.

    Morning all!
I have tried over my lifetime to take care of myself.Still in the gym 3 times a week pushing it.I never have done a lot of weight, just more reps.My bicycle rides a week average 50-70 miles per week.Watch what l eat and my glucose intake.Seems like you would be healthy. Then you hear about a guy in the gym that is as healthy as you can get and he croaks with a massive hard attack.
This doesn't discourage me,but you have to think "why am l trying!"

Guess it goes back to when your time is up..

    Morning all:
You need to take George Burns advice, remember when he said he smoked 9 cigars a day and his doctor told him to quit smoking. He said that he was glad he didn't listen to his doctor, he might not have lived long enough to be able to go to his funeral!

Forget the gym and the bicycle, make homemade wine and don't be afraid to drink it, my old friend Ollie made it to 102 by that method! o_O

There's a lot of that going around.

My folks lived from payday to payday. I had no idea there was such an idea as financial planning until I found a book in the "library" (actually a shelf on the wall--it was a small ship) when I was in my early 20s. There are a few that age who will listen.

Good morn east coasters! Couldn't sleep, so up early. Helping with Running With the Bears Marathon on Saturday morn. Just a corner sitter, but close to the 6:30AM start, no wonder a late filled position, supposed to be set up by 5:15. AM! Almost an drive therel up, what, at 3AM? Will take a couple old lanterns and a small stove for coffee with me.
Gained back most of the 10 lbs. I lost during that day hike a few days ago. Must have been badly dehydrated. Still ache moving around, not as bad though. Hand washed the truck after dinner last night, need to dust the inside, will be ready for the marathon and the Coleman campout in a week then, making good appearances.

    Evening all:
:annoyed: was just out weed wacking for a couple hrs., same for yesterday, when I take my T shirt off it's soaking wet. Went down to the pond and straightened the pipe, then started trimming, almost got done with what I wanted to do when a thunderstorm came through and it started pouring! :(

Carl, unfortunately we have to deal with very high humidity here about 6 months out of the year so I can certainly relate to what you experienced.

Also, most years Mobile, Alabama is the wettest city in the nation but it is still home to me so I just grin and bear (pun intended) it.
