    Morning all:
    !
30 feet high in a tree stand is a bit much! It looks like the safety harness saved his butt, I sure wouldn't want to be hanging upside down for 2 days and I doubt if cutting the harness would have been an option, he was one of the lucky ones.

    Welcome to the porch Tom.

I would have guessed that the blood pooling in his body would have been fatal in that length of time.

    Happy that he survived.

Well, going to be a year older on Labor Day.

Very grateful to still be kicking after having a heart attack with quintuple (5) bypass at the age of 42.

    God is good!

How old do we have to be to attain the status of "Emeritus" on the 60 + forum?

I'm wondering when we will be considered "elderly" instead of just old!:rolleyes:

Installed a NEST thermostat this week. Filed for the $100 BGE rebate today!

Smoking a Chuck Roast on the Weber Kettle grill today. Picked up the grill on Craigslist in early August so am still learning how to use if to its full capabilities.

I installed a Honeywell Lyric thermostat last year Tom. Easier to set up and works well. Can control it with my phone as long as I have internet. Technology is wonderful(when it works).
Was upstate at our neighbors corn roast that they have every year on Labor Day weekend. No butter needed.20180901_171543.jpg

Good morning Susan, guys. Took Repo pup out last night about 11, he took off after deer I believe, heard a bunch of thrashing around then he yipped and came back in a few seconds. Went back inside to get a flashlight, he was still keen on going after what had been there. Took off again for a minute then came back. Neighbor dogs barking. Glad it wasnt a lion or bear. Bear seem to just run.

Butter may not be needed, but it makes it better. :)

We're just back from a week in VT. Had a great time seeing sights and hiking around the ski area where we stayed. We've been to VT a bunch of times but I don't think I ever quite appreciated just how friendly the whole place seems to be. I did not see a single road rage incident, or hear a single cross word, the entire time we were there.

We stayed an extra day to go out on a sunset cruise on Lake Champlain. The weather was absolutely perfect and we had a FANTASTIC cruise. We sat out on the bow; there weren't many tables there so we made sure to be early in line to get one of them. I'm really glad we did because later on I took a tour of the rest of the boat and there were DJ's, dancing, and all kinds of other tomfoolery going on that would have completely spoiled what turned out to be a perfectly spectacular sunset.

If you're ever in Burlington give it a go -- just be sure to take an extra layer, and turn left when you board. Also be aware that they add a "service charge" to all food/drink orders! But it was worth it.

I have only been to Vermont once, but really enjoyed my visit.

Traveled there in early October for the foliage view but there was so much more to see. Enjoyed Maine and New Hampshire also.

Mount Washington is definitely a must see. Really liked the cog railway.

Good morning all. Happy Labor Day.
Vermont is beautiful country, especially in the fall when the foliage is most colorful. Was there twice and enjoyed it very much.
If your traveling out there today stay safe and have a great day.
