How many Tacomas does it take to equal $1.6B?

    Afternoon all:
Think I hit the mother load today, saw around 15 deer. A nice Y buck was checking me out and came within about 60yds, also had one doe at about the same, all the rest were far. I was on an oil pipeline and most of those deer crossed in one small area, looks like I need to be sitting there.

Drove almost 500 miles round trip to camp with some other Coleman Collectors. Forgot they told me would have to go thru the toll booth on the way back. :( $5. Friend had his Land Rover there. He wants to go thru the motor sometime. Get it so it can pass VW's. :)

Extracted some honey from our hives this past weekend. Got about 80 pounds - not bad for our first fall season; only had a few months of production.

Here's a picture of the frames that the bees build their honeycomb on - they then cap it with wax to hold the honey in. We take the top layer off the way and then put the frames in an extractor - like a centrifuge. Fall honey here is really dark...and delicious!!

    Evening all:
    Evening Sue!
Want to come up and carry a portable climbing tree stand about 1 1/2 miles into the woods for me, I think it would be a big help!
Never mind, I just thought of something, maybe I can put a set of wheels under it, there is a path for almost all of that distance.
I thought about throwing it onto a deer cart, got to see what else I can come up with in regards to the climbers.

Just hollow out the tree and put a dam elevator in it.

When our family lived in California south of Sacramento a bit, my grand dad kept bees, loved the honey. Still keep honey all the time by my sugar.

I can always count on Mike to come up with a plan! o_O
Where they are crossing on the oil line, I could use the climber right on the edge and catch them out in the open. I don't want to lug it in the mile and a half, but on a cart or set of wheels it would be easy to get it in there.

Mike you have found that there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Uh O, PETA will not like that analogy.

    Update:

Received pathology report today from Melanoma surgery last Tuesday : no residual cancer, margins clear.

Just what I was hoping for.

Thank you all who expressed support for me. I really appreciate all of you.

I’m sure your inventive enough you could come up with something portable.
I helped put one up and what a pita..don’t know how ya going to do it alone.
Suppose a special cart with the top all put together and 2 sections of ladder.
A show and tell project.. :)

Glad you got a great report Holeshot! Best news in the world!

I go back for an MRI to see if my radiation shot (last July) worked in November.lt was not a great year for health issues in 2017.

    Morning all:
:woot: Saw deer again this morning, hopefully just a matter of time! My buddy had a legal buck within range, he didn't shoot at it because he wasn't offered an ethical shot by the way it was standing.

I have a stand like that Mike, ladder is 2 pc. and interlocks, platform is hinged and folds back against the ladder for getting it through the woods, the two platform braces are also removable so the platform can fold back, slick setup. I was mainly talking about a climbing tree stand, I could also haul it back with the deer cart. I don't mind lugging one a couple hundred yards into the woods, carrying one for over a mile doesn't sound like much fun!

    Ahh ok. Misunderstood.
Thought old man ladder stand not old man being young climbing stand.
My boy carries his in with a backpack on top.
    Screw that.
I'll put my hammock seat against a tree and sleep..
