Wife & I cut down 32 sweet grass clumps today. It's an annual chore for the growing season. Used the sawzall with a fine blade then hauled the clippings to the roadside on a tarp (3 trips). We are both tired & sore but it sure beats using the old hedge clippers! (we're 66)

Wife and I spent most of last Saturday removing snow from our roof and around the house. Kicked our butts, then all the snow melted anyways. Who needs a gym membership, own a home and take care of it.

Yes getting older has it's ups and downs, that's for sure. But thank God for better living through Chemistry.:) I do have days though where I feel like I have more pains than Carter got pills. I am going to attempt a day in the Uwharrie NF this spring, just to visit some of my old haunts. What I'd really like to do is be bold and adventurous, and go back to Colorado, and spend a month just camping in the Rockies. I miss those day's of my youth. Many fond memories from there. I had friends in Englewood, and I stayed up there for about 9 months looking for work and vacationing back in the early 80's. When Winter started blowing in and I lost my roommate, I headed back down south to Texas and warmer weather. I've been on this website numerous times looking up info on Tacoma Repairs, and decided to take the plunge and join. So like it or not here I am. I do a lot of surfing in the 1st gen section, and boy oh boy are there are some very rude and obnoxious replies posted there. I read them and move on, not my cup of tea, and I'd rather not get involved in some forum argument. But otherwise, glad to be here.

    Evening all:
Welcome David, first fill up the cooler, then pull up a chair on the porch and join in.

We went ice fishing this morning, BURRR, I caught 1 bluegill in 3 hrs.! Jim's BIL had a couple decent perch and a few bluegills, Jim caught a 20 1/2" largemouth and about a 12" smallmouth on a panfish jig about 1/4" long. He was also using a light panfish ice rod and light line, needless to say he got quite the fight out of the LM bass.

So I show no favors, only accepting donations of $100,000 or more. Per week.

Still less expensive than the senior senator from KY.

I've been President of the college for 6.5 years so I've had more than my share - but going to retire effective July 1 2020...just before Duane gets elected POTUS!

That's my dream mud room... will probably stay a dream, too.

    welcome David

I stick to my few threads for that very reason  We're glad you are here.

Good Luck.... Was watching Inside edition a bit ago... they were showing a ski lodge (I think) that got snowed in recently!! They got 8' of snow and it took rescuers a few days to get to them
