:woot: glad I could help you out :D

 Carl!! Evening. I need an extension for the valve cover box I put in today.... been looking and they don't make one the correct size.... well, just had a bright idea.... buy another one, same size and install upside down. Drill some holes in both of them and zip tie them together...... hmmmm what to put between them to keep the dirt out???? since they don't overlap... so, guess not so bright after all :pout:

    Well, this is interesting.
1st there was rain, then sleet, then snow...now, more rain...
At least the rain will knock down the piles of snow.

We're getting freezing rain on top of the snow and freezing rain we had earlier...and then it's supposed to be 45 this afternoon. Welcome to northeast PA!

Don't know what it looks like, maybe could fabricate something and attach it to the outside edge of the top box so it overlaps the outside edge of the bottom one. :notsure: Where there's a will there's a way, you'll figure it out!! :)

Sometime not too wise Gary, sometime need a plan B, C, D, to accomplish something! Hate when plan A works, but plan B works much better, too bad I didn't think of plan B first!
I need to fabricate a crude rangefinder for the crossbow using the bracketing method, should be pretty simple and just need to figure out how to securely mount it, I'll figure it out --I THINK! If I had one on last year I may not have missed the buck that I misjudged the yardage on. I have a rangefinder, but if I would have tried to use it that buck would have probably been long gone.

Sue: Google jumbo sprinkler valve box, I don't know how much bigger you need but it looks like they do make larger ones than what you have.

Carl, you seem to be very good at solving problems that require an abstract projection of what it would take to accomplish your goal. The crossbow range finder is a good example.

Do have happen to be an engineer? I ask because my oldest son is an engineer and has the same talent as you for visualizing the solution then formulating a plan to accomplish it.

    Evening all:
Maybe a redneck engineer, but only on simple things! I can usually figure most things out, might take awhile but I get er done! :D

Now this is real redneck engineering , and it works perfectly!
Yup, it's the bottom part of a crutch, solid as a rock and no holes in boat.

When I worked for the phone company back in the 60's and 70's that is how the fleet maintenance oil changes happened.

You too, thought I was the only one! :)

Was playing Mike today, fixed the windshield washer hose on the 99 Chevy truck. Seven bolts to hold the battery tray down and need to pull the inner fender liner partially out to access the reservoir, who comes up with these ideas---and that's an easy fix anymore! :(
