Gun owners in Kalifornia may need to move to two counties in Nevada which have declared they are sanctuary counties for gun owners, against the new governor there who wants to enact more gun control per the same radio I listen to part of the day. Following some cities in Kalifornia who have declared themselves as sanctuaries for illegal aliens.

:pccoffee:  Finally a truly spring-like day here. I have plenty of chores to do outside, time to get to them!

We're building a garage this year. The plans are made, permissions obtained. I still need to get the permit filled out and sent off but they tell me the turnaround is pretty quick on those. We had the trees cut down last week which means we're kind of committed at this point! Plus I have a heap of logs that need cutting and splitting. Just what I needed, more chores.

Still trying to decide on what to get to replace my Simplicity garden tractor that died last year. Ariens zero-turn is near the top of the list but I'm not completely sold on pulling a trailer around with it, plus the deck is much harder to remove which makes deck cleaning and maintenance a lot harder. But decent tractors are hard to find and mostly too big for our needs. Still digging and researching, but I have to decide soon because stuff is starting to pop up in the yard...

Just waiting for mother nature to make up her mind on what she's going to do in the next couple of weeks.
I want to get the stock (my winter) wheels off.
I want to put my summer tires and wheels on!
But as we all know, she's fickle...0702180620a.jpg

I swapped the snow tires off SWMBO's car yesterday. Figured that would guarantee a late winter storm.

When we were kids the "Sheeny Man" would ride thru the hood on a horse drawn wagon blowing a long trumpet to announce himself. People would give him scrap metal & old appliances.
Well, I'm turning into the modern day version, only with a Tacoma.

Today's find was brand new, unassembled, metal patio tables with smoked glass tops. One is a coffee table sized the other an end table. Both in boxes left on curb for Monday's trash. The price tag said $499.

Last year I found a pile of antique house shutters left on the street. The homeowner was too lazy to paint them. Sold the truckload for $300 to a salvage shop.
This retirement gig ain't so bad after all.

Thanks...no they're American Racing wheels. Same size as the stock wheels, I didn't want to get into doing a lift or leveling it out....too much work for me:)

Here's a little hint for everyone:
Before you make a plan and decide to bring your tractor to life to get ready for spring, summer and fall, after a long cold winter...battery tender - check, oil - good, greased fittings - check...set the brake - check, set the choke - check, turn the key - crank, crank, crank.
Not starting...check everything...all's good. What's going on, why isn't this POS (not really) starting?
Crank again and again....will not start...wtf!!!!

Put gas in, it makes it much easier to start!!!

Not to mention if you do not put a tire on the new rims that equal the same circumference, the speedo will be off. I am close with my summer set up.

Back to basics. Remove spark plug and crank over checking for spark. If spark squirt a little gas in the cylinder and put plug back in. If it starts then stops at least the engine is ok, for the most part and the problem is probably in the carb.

New project I don't need! I recently noticed a specialty river anchor that's popular on the Columbia river, never saw an anchor made like this one.
There are several places on the river that I like to fish where it's tough to get an anchor to hold, going to fabricate a "Columbia river anchor" and see if it gets the job done. Little bigger than I prefer, but if it will hold where my other anchors wont I will be happy. If it's about the same I will just have another anchor, but it's worth a try.

Yup Tom, need a welder, my hunting buddy will be up to the task! :) I don't have a welder, never learned to weld, but if I had more use for one I would own one. I could probably fabricate it without welding if I had to, just would need to drill a lot of holes.
