Did you eat at the Paradise Lodge?
    Go through the visitor center?
How far up did you hike?

    Ken,
Just went to Paradise to kill some time that day as I only camped outside the Park that day, a few miles from the CG inside where I stayed the night before, saved a few bucks, used my solar shower, Repo didnt have to stay on leash. No hiking up the Rainier trail since I had the dog. Tempted to eat there, but only got some stickers for my truck and bear can, a patch for the vest I have never found to put all my patches on.

Paradise is where most climbers start from to summit. I went on the other side to summit. White River.
Camp Muir is a great hike. Up to 10,200 ft, from about 5400 ft, and not a technical route.
(Truth be told it kicked my butt the 1st time)

Duane, you should play that country music song for Repo " 6 days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight". Looks like tonight came early for him :)

For some reason I never receive updates when a post is made in a thread I follow. I am doing OK and getting ready for a Michigan vacation. Also getting ready to turn 70 in a few weeks.

THX Ken. I am actually doing a lot better than 5 years ago. My wife has one more year of teaching and she will retire. Time to start to travel to someplace warm during the winter. LOL

My son launched his landscaping business this past winter. Helping him has been a full part time pro bono job at times. He was hired as a temp laborer for the City of Bowie and he just went full time. Yea Bennies!!! He has one or two jobs almost every evening and on the weekends. We just picked up a SureTrak utility trailer, small 8X6 and all his equipment fits in the trailer. His next purchase is a zero turn Exmark mower. He currently runs a 30 in Exmark Commercial and a 22in Toro as a back up. All the other power equipment is Echo. Kid makes more cash than I do.

The best gift a child can give his parents is to be able to earn a good living so the parents can join the "SKI Club" (spending kids inheritance). The missus and I did it years ago and we are doing our thing. Past 2 years spent the winter in Bali Indonesia and this year heading to St. Marten NA. When travel abroad becomes an issue, we will do the States again but on longer trips. You take care and enjoy.

    Rob:
My son turns 20 next week. I have been on TW 10 years now. My 09 is showing a little wear but chugging right along.

    It's HOT here!
Of course now that it's miserable with the heat the river is fishable, probably could get a few walleyes but it's also loaded with smallmouths, the boat would be like an oven also.
Best bait for the smallmouths is hellgrammites, even to get the hellgrammites at this time of the year would be brutal even while wading around in the shallow riffles.
When we get our own bait, such as black nosed dace minnows or hellgrammites, it's sometimes harder to get the bait than to catch the fish!
