Duane, do you have anything keeping you there? A few miles east is Nevada.

Ken, I like the country here and my nice garage, all is paid off, 5 minute walk to public land. My trip didn't look promising to move to ID or WA. Should have built in some time to visit Realtors.

Planning takes time. Do not be so attached to the stuff. There is stuff elsewhere, too.

I liked what I saw in Idaho. North from Boise we followed the Clearwater til we hit I-90.
I like North Carolina, I like the water we have here. But, I would move if we found a better cabin that fits us in a few ways we are thinking about.

My friend who lost his house in the Camp Fire, was looking at Carson City, but looking north of Boise now as Nevada prices were too much for existing homes.

Good morning Ken and all. Yesterday I was reminded, again, that now days it is body over mind. I used up the gallon of paint on the shed doing the first coat. I thought I would be able to do two coats but the body said "I don't think so". So I compromised and bought another gallon to use today. Decent paint has gone up in price. Even with a 15% military discount the cost was $72. However I have this paint on 3 other sheds and it still looks good. One of the sheds is close to 30 years old. My dad and I built the shed.

    Morning all:
Lately I have been buying Sherwin Williams paint Tom, but only when they run 40% off sales. I had used Sears top of line paint for most of the projects before that, and was well satisfied with it, unfortunately it is no longer available.

"I HATE PAINTING!!!" But on the rare occasions where I had to, I always used the best I could get for the price. Dark colors were Benjamin Moore and very expensive but the finished job is great. Sometimes a good paint saves money in the long run by not having to repaint as often ( as I said, "I HATE PAINTING" so the less I have to repaint the better).

Hi Carl, My wife swore by Sears best paints. It was always good quality and if it got a smudge or scuff, you could wash the wall and it wouldn't damage or remove the paint. Good stuff. Sherwin Williams is so-so paint but I don't like Home Depots Behr paint. Doesn't hold up well. I try not to paint if I don't have to. But I don't have any Ben(from Tom Sawyer) to trick into doing my painting!!!

So, do you ever go back to basics with anything?

Make bread instead of buy. I am baking sourdough today.
Make a knife or hatchet instead of buy. I am in a forging class wednesdays. My 3rd class this year.
Cook a meal instead of eat in a restaurant.

    Just sayin ... LOL!!

Yeah, I use lighters and matches, too.
Oh, and I go to a mechanic instead of do it myself. But that is because it would cost me more in the long run. :)

Actually I pretty much prefer basic anything.
    Cars trucks etc.

    I made bread.
I started getting fat cause it was so good.
So I got rid of it and went basic AKA store bought. Lol

At some point you find your limit of skill.
Yea I've touched that point quite often in life... Lol
