I didn't miss much work in all the years I worked.
Now, I avoid stores, only hitting the grocery store early morning, cut and run.
Just love the dire warnings each year.

Now as far as the shingles vaccine goes we got our first dose this summer. Second round should be coming up soon. Wife was miserable with shingles a few years back & doc says you can get it again. Horrors!

This thread reminded me of an old joke that some of you may remember.

President George W. Bush is sitting in the morning WH briefing. One of the Pentagon attendees says "Mr. President, there was an uprising in South America late yesterday and two Brazilian soldiers were killed". The President shows a distressed look on his face, hangs his head, shakes it from side to side, and says "that is terrible news". He then slowly turns his head to his adviser and asks "how many is a Brazilian?"

Gophers have stepped up their activity so set a trap, missed one day so reset the trap, had one this AM when I checked. Had dirt packed around it so I know there is at least one more, reset my trap. My excitement now.
Some wind today, PG&E hasn't shut power off yet like folks in wine country had.

Good Morning. Todays adventures include making chicken soup, modding the Weber Kettle grill, and going to ACE hardware to pick up some B&B charcoal I ordered. Right now I am making chicken stock using parts of chicken I froze whole when doing BBQ cooks this summer. Mostly backs and wing tips, nothing goes to waste these days.

Went to the grocery store this morning for a few items and found pork shoulders and whole frying chickens for 99 cents a pound. Sunday I will hang a rack of ribs and a chicken in the WSM. I love being retired so far!

Actually I have a small Facebook page for friends and family where I go into mild detail what I am doing for a particular cook. I just upgraded my phone and will start to play around with the video capabilities, editing and maybe posting on YouTube.

    Ugh
    Work..

Raining most of the day so not being able to go hunting won’t hurt so bad.
Started two weeks earlier than normal getting ready for winter.
    Now I’m a week behind.
    Like I always say.
Work interferes with important things that need to get done.

Wonder what kind of trouble I’ll get into today.. lol
    Be safe all.
    Don’t fall off the porch
