I thought with the nice rain awhile back, that I could put my garden hoses away. Lawn looked dry, so fired up a hose and watered my lawn last night and rewatered a couple spots this morning. Waiting for burn days to restart so I can burn a small pile, then start felling three trees which would fall over the spot I burn at.
Treated myself while in town a few days ago. Had not had a Fall hot drink since last year, so went and got a Pumpkin Spice latte at one of the spots in town.

Technology can be really good. The missus and I watched friends we met in Bali this year get married on a beach in Australia where they live. We watched using WhatApp on cell phones. WOW!! it was real nice to be there for their special day even though we were still at home in our pajamas(I had on my sweats...don't wear PJ's). For all the grief tech can give me it does have some good points.

 

Had an Icelandic hot dog. It was pretty good and the condiments added to it's flavor. Had all condiments except for raw onions.

Order an Icelandic hot dog as most Icelanders do and yours will be served on a warm, steamed bun topped with raw white onions and crispy fried onions, ketchup, sweet brown mustard called pylsusinnep, and remoulade, a sauce made with mayo, capers, mustard, and herbs.

 

We have leaves in vibrant fall colors fallen all over the wet ground from a recent rain. Not hot, no bugs, wood stove going, good coffee, a great morning.
I do not do anything Pumpkin Spice, except for an annual piece of pumpkin pie. A local rock place has pumpkin spice landscape rocks.

 

I try my best to avoid the annual pumpkin craze too. But I do like a good homemade pumpkin pie. At Thanksgiving!

 

I don't do much Pumpkin Spice anything or pie. One slice available during Thanksgiving with tons of whipped topping is good.

You gotta try some chocolate chip pumpkin bread.

 

One of my grandmothers used to bring over "pumpkin" pies, but it was actually made with squash. Looked like pumpkin and tasted pretty much like pumpkin, so we goobered it down without question. LONG time ago.

I hear it done here in NC. I was told the squash they use is a better (cooking) squash than the (common) pumpkin squash.

 

Anything with "bread" in it is good.

You need to try the pie pumpkins. Better than carving pumpkins

My drive down the mountain from a hike.

 

I installed my bakflip G2 this afternoon. Toyota must have had their air gun tuned up for the left side cargo rails. They were really torqued down, I broke a bit on the center one, then it stripped out on bit #2, a T30 shouldn’t be anywhere near that tight. I had to drill it out, thinking I could get vice grips on the stub, nope 4 bolts will have to do, that all a short bed has anyway. The right side bolts broke loose easily, 5 minutes and that side was done.

I got it done minus the drains before dark. I’m not really seeing where water could get in, and I may skip the drains altogether. This was about all the physical labor my old crippled back could tolerate. I have a feeling tomorrow it’s gonna be tough to get out of bed.
