Do go on. I'm sure there is an excellent story behind that.

Back in '71, there abouts, we were worried about the draft. Not compelled to enlist, don't know why, maybe the Viet Nam war. Many of my tiny HS class went to college or community college. Our dads served, so maybe there was no push from them for us to join up.
Two uncles on moms side and my dad were in WW II.

My uncle and my dad served during the Korean war. I turned 18 the year after the Vietnam war ended. Frankly had I been in the service I may have gotten my shit straight earlier.....

Here's some sorta before and after pics of the second Cottonwood I fell. What a mess. Burned up the small stuff yesterday, just needed some good coals going and it kept going until just a pile of ash. Going to haul much of the small diameter wood that is left to the garbage transfer site in town on Saturday when they accept a pickup load for $5. Had cut it up for firewood, but I have so much wood figured I'd get rid of it. Used my peavey to roll the chunks.

    Evening all:

That's interesting, I read an article once where the author stated that in his opinion any buck shot in Maine was a trophy, even if it was only a spike buck.
Since they put antler restrictions on here in Pa., (3 on one side to be legal), the size of the racks have increased overall, but there are also way less buck since there are way less doe to produce them.

WOW  You were busy. Dump tipping fees are a PITA. At our county recycling facility, dump, as long as I bring the waste in a car or SUV/minivan without the seats removed there are no tipping fees. Pickup trucks are $10. I usually go twice a year with all metal, electronics, old paint and batteries. I also ask the neighbors if they have anything they want me to take for them. I am a big believer in Reuse, Repurpose and then Recycle.

Every Monday our city does curb pick up of anything but paint & electronics. The scrap pickers make their rounds on Sunday just ahead of the front end loaders.

Two cans (I take my own garbage) are $8 something which I take in every couple months, a pickup bed level with yard waste no longer than 2' is $5. They have hazardous waste days once every couple years on a Saturday.

:ranger" Hi folks! I've been ferrying my mom to/from the hospital for the past week. My dad is back there AGAIN. I just talked to him this morning and it sounds like they'll be springing him loose today. Woo hoo!
