Thought I’d share a piece of useless information . Tomorrow 02 02 2020 is called a palindrome day. The numbers are the same backwards and forward. So happy palindrome day to ya all.

Good morning, everyone. Sorry I'm late but I've been drinking coffee and reading through the 3rd Gen, for sale and group buy threads in relentless pursuit of things for my new truck...that I probably don't need but buy anyway. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!

Ken, I am on Facebook and friends with Jim there - he hasn't been active on his page in a few years. I wish him Happy Birthday every year but he never posts anything.

Enjoy your day!! For me, it is one day closer to the new Tacoma arriving.

    Sorry to hear.
The knowledge gained over years of hard honest work get pushed aside by company greed.
    All about the numbers.

The conversations have gone from “wow that was a hell of a find and repair” to
    What took you so long?
    How much longer?
If the numbers work, as minimal as I know they are, I’m out in a year.
I can find a part time job doing something.
I am sick of dealing with people.
My wife is the same way.
She has a shot to work from home part time .
Just insurance is a question for her and will take ss early like me. Real early..
We have to get some life time together without stress as the
Health issues are looming and can pounce on us again at anytime.
We want to enjoy a little before we lose the fight..
My driveway will be cleared like most everyone else on the street when you drive by
at 6 pm. No fighting traffic...
Fishing on week days and no one at the launch.
The word NO will flow much more easily out of my mouth.

I am really sorry for your friend.
This hits very close to my heart..

I must be one of the only people left that is not on facebook Mark. Hope he is okay and just got tired of facebook. Hoping someday he'll pop up.

I have been in your shoes in the work arena Mike. I left 6 months before my full retirement age because I couldn't put up with the bullshit anymore and it was affecting my interaction with family...thats when I knew I had to get out. I hope tthings do work out for you and the missus.

Good Morning kind sir. How was your weekend Rob? Hope the R&R was relaxing.

Lynn retired 4 years ago to care for aging/sick parents. After trying to work and care for her Dad she was burned out so we agreed that her retiring and taking early SS was the answer. In reality, because of our incomes and my Army retirement, most of what she made was burned up in taxes anyway. 4 years later, she is happy, busy and despite some frustrations thankful to have this time with her mother (the last standing of our parents at 93.

Now, it's my turn to retire. The uncertainty of life, combined with the growing frustration of dealing with increasingly demanding yet clueless parents, makes this a good time to step out. I've loved both my careers and still love working with students - and we have an amazing team at the college - but it's time. Not only don't we know how many years we have on this earth, but we surely don't know how many quality years we'll get. We set a goal for our retirement funds...and we've exceeded it, thankfully. Time to join the SKI Club - Spend (the) Kids Inheritance. I know I'll have lots to keep me busy here at MMM and we will do some travel, as well. Cutting the grass on a Tuesday seems like a dream instead of having to pack it into a weekend and still enjoy time at the pool, shooting, etc. I'm just ready to slow my life and enjoy time with Lynn.

I'm already booked to make a tandem parachute jump on July 1st - my first day of retirement - to celebrate my new freedom.

For your mouth to Toyota's ears, Rob!! Based on the dealer's experience they think it will arrive early this week. If so, I should be driving it by Thursday or Friday.

    :hattip: Hi Ken.
Weekend was great. Learned how Stitch handles off road in the snow. Watered and fed some animals. Mucked out the chicken coop. Restocked fuel tanks and propane. Did some generator maintenance. Felt good to get away from home somewhere other than work. Winter blahs alleviated a bit and mood greatly improved. :)

How is it there, weather getting better, I hope?

    Thank You
I’m talking 2 years early for me and 4 for her for full
I know you guys must me thinking I’m nuts.
    Our time is limited.
I don’t want to kick with a wrench in my hand
I never thought I would live this long.
Maybe some time away and a new part time job might kickstart me.
    I’m miserable every day.
I hate change but something is going to have to give.
    So we will see.

I'll be almost 2 years short of full SS retirement age - just turning 65 this April. After running the numbers, I'd have to live into my mid-80s to get to the point where the numbers go underwater. I hope I live that long...and am still able to regret taking it early. It just seems better to take it now and enjoy it. Life has been good to me but I've had too many close calls to think I'm immortal.

Glad you had a good weekend. Sometimes a get away is good for one's outlook on things...clears the head:D. Weather has gotten much better and a lot less rain. Beach day today then off to the Sun Set Beach Bar for the Super Bowl:thumbsup:.

Mike, one thing to remember and that is only you and the wife can make the decision on when to retire. When the time is right you'll know it and do it and don't look back. Life is good and you need to enjoy it. Some of the times when I think maybe I shouldn't have retired, I go back to where I worked , and when I leave I knew it was the right decision:thumbsup:. Whatever you decide or whichever direction you choose I know the missus will be right with you and I wish you both the very best:proposetoast:.

We need pics of the dive..

My retirement consists of a small 401k.
    Had asthma so no military.
Worked in the auto repair business all my life.
Problem is I am good at it.
So I never needed to find a different career.
Never really liked dealing with people.
So I talked to cars and they talked back.. ( matter of speaking )
I use to put my hands on a car and feel the pulse.
Now without a laptop it ignores you.
They have a mind of their own.
And that scares me more than anything.
