It's already dirty, Mike. The drive home from the dealership was 90 miles of rain ending in driving down our dirt/mud road. The joys of living in the country. I think it will see some snow today.

    It’s a truck.
    Don’t need comfort and “features”.
Wait it’s really not even a truck
    They don’t build trucks anymore.
They build big cars with a hole in the back

So true Mike. Comfort features and luxury....See more and more "luxury" trucks on the road than working trucks.

For those of us who remember what trucks used to be like with that 3 speed on-the-column shifter transmission, it's funny to watch those of the younger generation lament the lack of advanced features in the Tacoma. Oh my God, Toyota finally added Apple Car Play and an electronically-adjustable driver seat! And, how about the low resolution camera system???? How can anyone live with only one USB port on the dash????

It all just makes me smile. Don't get me wrong, I love the creature comforts of my new truck. It's fun and comfortable to drive. But, as Mike notes, the days of trucks as they were originally designed, are gone just as are the classic roadsters. Even Miatas and BMW Z4s have succumbed to the post-baby boomer love of the throwback to the older, more simple roadsters. That's why I still love hopping in my 4 cylinder '96 Z3. It's not about the horsepower. It's about the weight and balance and the simplicity of being able to pound the gears as you push it through the corners....even without heated seats.

I agree, to the point at times you don't want to get it dirty, but makes multi day trips enjoyable. Nicer than the '07 Civic I had.
Just cold out west, lows come thru with nothing but cold air. Each day getting further behind in precip.

    Morning all:
Don't know Ken, somehow "deck apes" sounds better than "the backbone of the Navy"! :D
I think those guys, and apparently girls now, are aviation Boatswains Mates, I don't know what the difference is.
We had 3 divisions of BM's on the ship, one div. did normal BM duties such as standing bridge watches, dropping anchor, and general upkeep of the ship, another div. ran missile cranes and related items when the subs came outboard of us, and the 3rd div. did nothing but run various small boats.

Times sure have changed Carl. The days of wooden ships and men of steel have gone. Being an airdale on the Forrestal we had quite a few different BM divisions ranging from flight deck to ship maintenance. A lot of folks involved. I am not against women in the armed forces, but I dont know how I feel about them on a ship out at sea for many days with a bunch of (term used when hitting port after being at sea) "horny sailors"...but I guess it's working out okay for them. I just thought you would enjoy the article:D:thumbsup:

No, I have the Spiker hood struts to do and Weathertech side window deflectors to put in but it's too cold. I've used a propane heater to warm up the garage the past few days - think I'll take a rest today.

    How's life on the beach?

Good morning to all! Late this morning, but it’s Sunday. This is the start of the 2nd week back at the gym.Went back to planet fitness this time around.l was there a few years ago and followed my trainer to where she worked out in a ”a real gym”.Done that for while and let my membership expire during the summer.Spend more time out riding bikes where l prefer to be (outside).
For $10 a month at pf,l can miss a few months inside and then head back in the late fall.

My small group of riders have been planning to do some longer rides this year, one of which is the C & O from Pittsburg to DC.Need to have some legs under me if l plan on riding for several days in a row.

    Anyone else ride?
