    :wave:Morning Tom:
 So far the air bags have worked well for me and surprisingly even the sub-zero temperature streak we experienced didn't have any negative effect on them. I run mine with 9-10 PSI all the time. I think the instructions said not to run them lower than 5 PSI and I wanted a "safety margin"; tried the 9-10 and the ride/stance of the truck was acceptable to me. Gives the truck a firmer ride, but not excessively so--I actually like it better than the "sponginess" I felt without the bags (hope that term translates well?). With only the ATV back there (625lbs), the truck rides level w/o adding additional air. I've only added air, up to about 15-16 PSI, when I hauled a load of firewood, stacked about 6 inches over bed rails and strapped to secure the stack. For how I use my truck, the airbags give me more flexibility over heavier springs--IMHO.

What's the benefit of the Redline MT 90? I changed mine to 75-90 synthetic, same as the diffs and xfer case. Need to research that...I've experienced a little of a stiff downshift into 1st, especially when it's extremely cold.

:wave:Morning "6": I still think you were supposed to buy lottery tickets the same time you found that truck on Craigslist, "7 yr old Taco w/ 27K", that's pure gold--IMO.

Service is definitely a good idea...sometimes the age can get to oil, not as bad as use...but still. For some reason this sticks in my mind concerning engine oil..."change every 3000 miles or 6 months" --pretty sure that was the "old school" rule for dino oils. But the same time principle probably applies to the gear oils. Certainly can't hurt..."ounce of prevention worth pound of cure" stuff! I run my synthetic eng oil 5K, synthetic oil in diffs 20k, and planning 40K for xfer case and manual trans....although the MT might be sooner if the Redline MT 90 pans out as a good idea.

:wave:Morning Ken. --x2  ...I find the magic RPM for 5th to be @ 2300, below that there isn't any torque to speak of; don't use 5th much at all when towing/heavily loaded. (only on extremely flat sections after I'm up to speed)

x2 Condolences and  ... I keep Jim's pal Chet and his family in my daily prayers as well.

    God Bless everyone. :oldglory:

Thanks, all, for the thoughts and condolences!! You all rock!!

Rob - the guy who had the truck before me treated it like gold. Oil changes every 6 minths, services, etc. He even took it in and had the oil changed the day before he signed it over to me - on his own nickel. I'll schedule it for a service as soon as spring rolls around and keep after the oil changes, too! It really was an amazing find. He even had the frame recall check done and gave me the documentation.

Can't disagree with that statement Impulse. That's the reason why after owning two 4 cyl trucks and now a six, I'd never go back to 4.

:woot: Mine's also my road trip vehicle and I like being able to play with the big dogs on the highway and not get run over  like I do in my 4 cyl camry.

 Happy Monday all. prayers still going out for Lynn's family and for Chet.

I need to find a truck like you found "6" for my son and DIL. They just bought a new to them house and she needs a new vehicle anyway...

My prayers are with your family. It is never easy losing a loved one.

    Rob:
I have always used red Line oils for the past 7 to 8 years now. Never had a problem with them and the engine just keeps purring right along.

I may take the Tacoma over to the dealer for a free 3 point check to see what they think needs to be replaced. LOL I need to find out if they will not cut down my accelerator pedal on the recall notice. I have the Weathertech floor mats and the pedal length is no concern to me.

I posted some pics from yesterday's Maryland meet.

Well back to work installing the track lighting systems. Lunch is over.

Hi Tom, if you don't want the pedal cut, tell them and ask for the waiver to sign...that way if the tech cuts the pedal they are responsible...I haven't had mine cut and with the weather techs there isn't a problem...Ken

I didn't have to sign anything... just told them to keep their mitts off my gas pedal  They said, ok.

    THX Ken and Susan.

Now do I do the $10:00 tire rotation at Koons Toyota with a 22 point check or do a free 33 point check with Bowie Toyota. I will look at what they say needs service and probably do it myself.

I have Transmission and differential fluid coming tomorrow. I already have the engine oil. I just turned 30K yesterday on the way to the Tacoma meet.

Hi Susan...the stealers here require you sign the waiver cause it is a "safety recall" item...

How was the meet yesterday Tom??? I was considering going but 2 1/2 hour drive one way wasn't looking all that appealing...Ken

I'll look into the Redline 90 MT for the trans. My experience with the accelerator pedal was the same as Ken's \/\/\/...signed a waiver statement...I wasn't concerned about it because I have the Weathertechs too!
