:pccoffee:  'Morning fellow crusty old coots and Susan.

This was interesting. For the past few weeks I've been doing shopping for us + my parents at the same time, because my parents are in a senior living place and it is locked down. My dad and mom have been giving me very specific instructions on what to get and where to get it; for example "strawberries, EAST COAST ONLY -- don't want any other kind." It's pretty clear they haven't been to a food store lately, right? o_O

Here's the interesting part. Yesterday my dad called me and said, "If you don't have to get anything for yourselves, don't go just for us. We'll be fine for another week. Stay home." I think it has finally sunk into their nonagenarian brains, after all these weeks, that we are surfing the wave of a pandemic.

And so I get to stay home today! :woot:

Fishing season here in the one party state has been put off, too many very upset people posting on the virtual meeting. One lake a few weeks ago went as far as blocking off launch ramps. But people can still shop in essential stores. Six of one, half a dozen of another.

    Morning all:

    Morning Gary!

I think they call that a "bearded mountain chicken" Mark"! :)

Oh, some are intelligent, but have no common sense what so ever! What do they say, a little common sense goes a long way.

 Payback Dave, lust like when we were kids and only wanted certain foods!

Seeing a bunch of info. about the USPS, 13 billion shortfall this year and a 54 billion shortfall over the next decade, :bucket:!
Looks like EVERYONE needs more money, especially when there is a few trillion available, :help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:!
Nothing really new about the USPS deficit though.

Ran my old Coleman air o lite model AA lamp last night for over 4.5 hours, ran perfect. Of course had to then air out my place, lips turned normal color from blue after awhile. :)

Looks like a real nice lamp Duane. How much time did you spend to get that shine? Nothing like a shiny piece of brass over the plastic they use today. Be safe.

Thank you guys. This is a nickel finish, just washed in soapy water, then dried the fount, steel wool then, not a great finish, looks good in pics. Some light dents in the replacement fount.

Back to visiting the thread (retired - sort of - again), no longer supervising machine shop - just doing some CAD drawings for my last boss. So keyboard work at home is the current employment (16 hours a week). When stumped with machine design problems I often surf the net and visit Taco World.

In a past life (20 years) I used to drive 40,000-60,000 miles a year in Wyoming, North Dakota, Idaho, and Colorado visiting surface mines - lots of 4wd and back country byways explored on the way. I've found that looking up the DOT webcams of those western states is an interesting view of what's going on in my old backyard. Lately, looking at Wyoming - they have quite a few cameras - traffic is way less than light. In a quicky look at a few busy spots I know - there were 5 semi-trucks and 6 light vehicles (cars and pick-ups). Those over-the-road long haul guys are going to get spoiled!

Visited a friends cabin on Rock Creek (one exit north of buffalo, wyo) about second week of Nov and his front yard was full of those black birds, grazing. A fellow with me remarked that we ought to break out the old gallery gun (pump 22) and plink one. The cabin owner explained - no shooting, they won't come back - "just take this 9 iron out there, walk slowly and clip one in the head - they'll be back in the morning". Hard to imagine this aversion to gunfire......... but whatever works!
