    Morning all:
Lets try this again, it is AM SUN!
Don't know what happened, but somehow lost a day and got really disoriented. Was thinking it was Sat. evening and not Sun. morning. Only thing I can think of is I took a late afternoon nap and slept like a rock through the night instead of waking up.
I don't even drink, maybe it's time to start! CRAZY!!!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all moms and everyone who has one! :)

My wife and I were wondering how bank robbers are handling this situation. They go into a bank with a mask on, but wait -- everybody has a mask on!

We've been doing "essential" runs a couple times a week. People are obeying the "masks required" rule really well around these parts. Mask quality varies but even a bandana is moderately effective at stopping stuff from coming out. Social distancing is a mixed bag though. It can be pretty tough in a food store aisle to maintain a 6 foot gap. Slide by, don't breathe, smile with your eyes... Most stores have plexiglass shields up at the cash registers now. Several places require hands to be washed on the way in, which is a pretty cool idea if you ask me. There is a mixed bag of controlling the number of people in a place though. I wish some would do a bit more along that line.

A neighbor texted my wife last night and said her sister went to the hospital, in an ambulance no less, with shortness of breath. We of course thought 'Rona. Turns out it was an anxiety attack. :notsure:

I still worry about my 90-something mom and dad. But we don't have a vaccine, we don't have an effective treatment (although I hear good things about this), and the governments at every level have completely failed to put together any kind of plans for testing, tracing, and targeted quarantining. People won't stay home forever. I think we are in for a long, drawn out period of people continuing to get this bug. Stay safe people! Protect your loved ones as well as you can.

Mother's Day is a love hate thing for me personally. I should just post the day really gives me appreciation for just volume of work my wife does. That is probably all I should write. My wife is not MY mother. The last 25+ years I have been exhausted on this Sunday.

Happy Mother's Day, Susan!! Sorry I missed that yesterday!!!

Inspected the bee colonies yesterday afternoon..all 4 queens are healthy and producing. Added the supers on top of the hives to give them space to grow and store honey. Hoping for a good year!!

We've had 4 people die from our church parish from the virus so far. One was a friend who'd survived cancer twice and was fighting it for a 3rd time. She always said that she would not give in to the cancer...she didn't.

    Be safe out there.

    Morning all:
Condolences for your friend Mark, bad enough to have cancer and then on top of that have the coronavirus do you in.
That gobbler was carrying on behind the house last night, going to try to call him in shortly, that may be tough since he's with a bunch of hens, will see!

    Sue, stay safe!

    Another morning all:
:(, well, plan A worked, almost!!!!
Set up off the edge of the yard and the turkey is gobbling away up on the ridge. Made a few soft yelps and clucks and noticed that 2 hens had come up through the yard and were close to where I was, well here he comes down through the woods and is out in the yard in full strut :woot:!
He's facing me and I pulled the trigger, well there he goes running up through the woods like nothing happened! :annoyed:
I probably could have waited for a closer shot, but thought he was in range of the 870 super mag. I'm using. That has been a downfall for me when turkeys are in open areas, I have missed way more than I got because I misjudge distance, in the woods I rarely lose a bird.
The old dummy should know by now to mark off yardage when hunting those open areas, that would at least give me a guide as for the "kill zone" and not misjudge the distance. If you remember, last year I missed a buck that I estimated to be 30yds., it was 50, just more proof that I am not very good at judging distance!

Sort of a reprieve Ken, checked the range and it was 40 yds. That's where I patterned the gun for, there were plenty of pellets in the kill zone @ 40 yds. and it will get the job done, as mentioned in a prior post, no magic pellet or pellets this time! :(

We had a good Mother's Day around here. My wife worked in the yard and I rode Jessica for our (bike and myself) 6th anniversary. What a great time.

I'm in the I'm not going to wear a stupid mask crowd. Too many years of training in respirators/protective gear and the masks are only effective to make a person feel better, they won't block an infected micro particle.

Have one Mike, just need to use it more! :p
In the case of the buck, I came to the end of a path where it hit the woods road, looked right and there he stood just off the road, no time to fiddle with the rangefinder or he would have been gone.
