Hi Carl, I could not figure out the reasoning behind sending out the debit cards, but at least they are going out:thumbsup: and people are getting the money. Enjoy the weekend Carl.

"The Raging Bull". He was quite the boxer and your Dads cousin was the only boxer to actually knock him down and win a TKO.... :woot::woot:. I have been trying to trace my ancestry but haven't got off the money to join Ancestry.com. It is really amazing what you will find out about family. Thanks for posting Paul.

Enjoy the pool and the weekend Mark.

Tacoma is packed and leaving shortly for upstate. Hope you all have a great, and safe weekend and spend a minute reflecting on what Memorial Day is for. Thank you all for your service and those that have passed on or paid the ultimate price for us. God Bless.

As a lark a couple years ago I did 23andme. Fascinating. The journey started when I contacted a 2nd cousin - who until that day I had no idea we shared so much DNA. Funny she has pictures of gatherings with my grandma, my uncle and so on, people I knew/know.

    Glad to hear it!
The practical side of me says they're doing it because they are trying to limit the number of people who have to go to any particular office or building to cut the checks and/or create the debit cards, or maybe it's a way to speed up the process.

The cynical side of me says Visa has their hand in some politician's pocket. o_O

I was dropping off groceries at my parents' senior living center yesterday when a school bus went by. That was strange enough, but then all these cars were following it, beeping and honking and waving and holding signs and balloons. One of the local high schools did a tour of the district, stopping at every senior's house and carrying on a bit as a way to celebrate their achievement. Kinda cool, and kinda sad at the same time. At any rate, Well Done Class of 2020! You'll have quite a tale to tell your grandkids.

Have a great holiday weekend all! There's a movement around here to have people observe a moment of silence and reflection at 10:00 AM on Monday. It would be neat if the whole country did that.

Wife and I went out for breakfast this morning. First time in 3 months we dined in a restaurant. It was wonderful. Before the lockdown we went out for meals at least twice a week. Felt good. It’s like we’re getting our life back again. Had a huge breakfast of ham , eggs, potatoes, a blueberry muffin and multiple cups of coffee. It was good!!!!

Not sure we're ready for a sit down at our fav restaurant. I'll let the Ms. make that decision. Distancing wouldn't be an issue with their normal seating. I'm reluctant to ever go there again though, our debit cards were illegally scanned there, I think at the cash register... don't know for sure. They tried to get money out of my account through an ATM. Didn't work, I was wise to their tricks. Got new cards and a couple RFID wallets the next day, still pisses me off though. I don't think there's anything on earth lower than a thief.

Then there's this... the bank didn't initially want to give us new cards, said "you're good to go, they didn't guess your pin numbers". I said they have the account numbers, and there are data available with every combination of numbers, it's only a matter of time until they get a hit. I'm surprised a bank manager didn't know that. I sure miss the good ol' days.:blahblah:

Good Morning folks:hattip:. Yesterday turned into a real nice day here in Benton PA. Calling for a great day today as well. An ex-philly resident opened up a cheese steak and hoagie shack in a shed in a parking lot. Tried the cheese steak and it was . And really reasonable. Will put it on my dining list. Have a great day all and be safe.

Good morning, all!!! Send one of those cheesesteaks my way, Ken!!!

Should be a gorgeous day!! I swapped out an old plastic laundry sink in our laundry rom and put in a stainless and new fixtures yesterday - Lynn has hated that old sink from the beginning - one of the few "cheap" options we chose when we built the house and regretted it from day one. Only took 16 years to finally decide to replace it.

We've got some small projects to finish up the remake of the upstairs of the old farmhouse on our property - mirrors, towel bars, a new light switch and cover - then it's on to cutting the grass. Hopefully I'll get it all done today and have tomorrow to hit the pool, wash the truck, etc.

    Be safe out there!!!

    Evening all:

Like that getaway Ken, almost looks like a place that one of my buddies owned up near Sayre.
Being off the grid he was getting broken into quite a bit, finally said the heck with this and decided to sell it.

We have had our share of break ins as well Carl. Most were local kids having a little whoopee in the bedroom rather then the back seat:D. We dont keep anything of value in the house and our neighbor 1/4 mile down the road drives by and checks it out for us. All is good when we are here. Have a good one tomorrow.

Good morning, all. As we go about our day today, take a few moments to remember the Fallen.

The rifle is affixed with a bayonet and inverted, signifying that the Soldier went down fighting. The boots signify the Soldier’s last march onto the battlefield. Dog tags are imprinted with the Soldier’s name and hung from the rifle so their identity will never be forgotten. The helmet is placed atop the rifle representing what the Soldier stood for and signifying that their battle is now over.

The Battlefield Cross is a sacred symbol amongst military members. Since a funeral is typically not possible during wartime, these symbols serve as a rallying point where surviving members of a unit can mourn and remember their fallen comrades.

This Memorial Day, reach out to the Veterans that you know and give them a simple message: “We Remember.” We remember our country’s fallen, your brothers and sisters, and we appreciate and honor their sacrifice. 99153617_10220575866919278_2735426351124185088_n.jpg

Thanks for posting Mark. I will never forget, but many believe Memorial Day is a 3 day party weekend. What they don't realize is the many who have fallen, giving them the freedom to have the Holiday. Today in my community down home they are having a rememberance in our clubhouse parking lot at 2 and a community member will blow taps at 3. Thank you all for your service and be safe.

Someone once said that those who do not remember history and learn from it are doomed to repeat it.

May we remember and honor those who have and are sacrificing so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms guaranteed in our Contstitution. Hats off to all of you and them.:oldglory:

I don't believe that because of state, county and township rules for staying in and social distancing that the community event for this afternoon was canceled:annoyed:. I will have a few moments of silence in rememberance of those who paid the ultimate price. RIP
