We are still Yellow here so masks are still required in the northeast. Looks to be a beautiful day, though. Still a work day for me, though. Enjoy and be safe!!!

    Morning folks.
Colorado weather is like "love it or leave it". It is not my type of weather because it can change in an instant, but the mountains and countryside are beautiful. Was in Colorado Springs in 1980 December and had my coffee on my BIL deck wearing a tee shirt, jeans and no shoes. My wife did laundry and hung the clothes out to dry. By the afternoon we stood the jeans up in the garage to thaw out as the temperature dropped into the 20's :annoyed:. Enjoy the day all and be safe.

Happy Tuesday or if you are retired happy what ever day you think it is. Nice day here in sunny Elk Grove California, gonna be a little over 90. Had an interesting experience this morning. Was sorting through a scrap pile of lumber I have looking for some appropriate pieces for a little project I’m building. Pulled out a couple of pieces and discovered several black widow spiders. I had leather gloves on but two of those nasty suckers ran across my gloved hand and up my bare right arm. Reflexively my left hand smashed them. When I as a 20 year old pro boxer I didn’t have the left hand speed that I had today and I’m 71. I know that death is very rare from one of their bites but it still scared the poop out of me. I went and got my sprayer , filled it with powerful insect killer and sought revenge. sprayed the crap out of that pile of wood and surrounding area. Nothing lives there now, it is a barren insect and spider wasteland.
Ya all have a great day, be safe.

Good morning all, what a difference 24 hours makes. It is still chilly but the snow is all gone, got up to 52 yesterday, it is now 35 and will get to the low 60's today then back to the mid 70's tomorrow.

Have a great Hump Day everyone - and for those of us that are retired - Happy Wednesday :D

Bad storms here yesterday. Could hear trees falling in the woods. Unnerving. I watch the woods during such events.. like there's anything I can do about it.

Good morning all, Trash day which equates to weekly visitation of our bear community. To the north of our property is this years bear trail from the ranch on our western fence line to the neighborhood. Moved a field camera to see what we have going through at night, lots of bear scat in our drain field.

Have a great day, will be re-bagging this weeks trash this morning :annoyed:

Happy Friday...or Happy Day....or Happy Vacation Day for me. I'm taking Fridays off until I retire at the end of the month to burn up some vacation time and ease my way out. Need to ad out to grab some groceries and then have a few small projects around the house...and pool.

    Be safe!!

:pccoffee:  Shopping day today. GORGEOUS weather forecast -- think I'll take the convertible. :)
I cut back to 4 days/week a couple of years ago. Feels downright normal now. Now I'm trying to decide whether to retire completely or cut back to 3 days. When I originally cut my hours we were busy as one-armed paper hangers and they were happy to accommodate me -- now with 'rona and a different workload, I'm not so sure.

Good morning all, TGIF for those that it fits and Have a great Friday for those of us that are off today. Life in the mtn's is renewed - Bambi's and baby cubs everywhere. This little guy was born yesterday afternoon, saw one drop while walking the dogs yesterday morning but didn't have a camera (phone) with me. Time to carry both phone, side-arm (bears) and bear spray. Spring / early summer is here.

Great picture Mike. we see many deer but not to many bear where we have a place upstate. Love seeing Mom taking care of the little one. We have a few fawns around the house in the spring, but they move on when they become yearlings.

Our deer population stays in the neighborhood as they grow up, kind of a safe zone for them, we cannot hunt within the neighborhood. The bears are a different story, our western fence line is a 6K acre ranch so we have all the usual suspects, elk, bears, mtn lions, deer, coyotes and bobcats.

Thanks for the pic compliment, that was actually my wife taking that pic as she was coming home - near our mail box cluster (near the entrance to our neighborhood) one way in and one way out of these small mtn neighborhoods. That little guy was only about an hour old.

For who? I mean, I understand my pets are in harm's way but am I? (Honest question. Even though I live a long ways from Colorado, I've had bear scat in my yard.)

They really are not a nuisance up here like they are down in the Springs after all this is their home. We just have to have a come to Jesus understanding from time to time. The mom's can be very dangerous when protecting their young, other than that they usually just walk away - after all they are only black bears here. Now if we head further west the grizz are a different matter, now it just isn't pets but people that are in danger. There was an attack last night down in Moniteau Springs (small town just west of Springs) where the gentleman was attacked while walking his dog, the dog is in bad shape but will survive.
