I've seen and done a few jury rigs in my time, but this one tips the list. Thanks for the post Carl.

Morning, all!! Another bit of proof that the world is coming to n end...we had frost here in northeast PA this morning. Lynn and I were out at 5:15 AM spraying the garden and our flowers with water to try to save as much as possible.

Well, I got the rocks moved. And I got the pond cleanout (part 1) finished. And I got fresh bread and strawberries over to my mom & dad who are currently imprisoned in their senior living facility. I think I will take the rest of the day off.

Have a great day folks, stay safe!

Mom always said don't plant anything before May 30... she would have missed it this year.

I think the end of May is about the time for first harvest in South Carolina! So I guess it depends on where you are.

Here’s the thing about retirement. Folks told me you’ll get bored. Well so far I’m busier than when I was working.

I’ve already replaced the engine in my ‘78 Ford, replaced the rear suspension on my CJ-8 and added stuff to my Tacoma.

Now add all my regular stuff and house projects and I need a vacation from retirement.

Well here's an update on the grass cutting w/the next door 14 y/o.
He always cuts while I'm not home...which is fine.
I gave him a key to the shed and he just cuts it when needed...it's his call. He cuts it once a week.
Every weekend I leave $ stuck in the handle of the mower, fill the tank and check the oil.
Anyway, I come home and the grass is cut...looks great.

Awesome! I may do something similar in the future. We hired an Amish young man a few times when I was laid up, and he did a good job. Just bought a new mower that would be easier for him to use, since the old one was a finiky 54" JD walk behind. Wife would say I should already be doing it, along with most of the outside work that gets done, like trimming tree limb overhangs off the roof with a pole saw yesterday... she did not approve. :notsure:
