    Morning folks:hattip:.
Mark, watching a hot air balloon soaring overhead on a clear day is a beautiful sight. Hope they start with passengers soon so people can see and enjoy the beauty from above.
Have a great day all and stay cool with the heat. Be sage.

Devious 6 , how long does it take for the burner to cool off in a descent for a landing so not to burn the riging nor the envelope ?

It cools pretty quickly. But, when we inflate and deflate we control the crown (top) of the envelope with a rope to help keep it away from the flames during inflation and from the burner on deflation.

Extra credit for getting "Endless Mountains" in there!

Good morning. Was on call for a week until yesterday morning then bam I'm on furlough for 3 weeks. A hard stop not supposed to even check emails. I've made it almost 24 hours so far. Normally take most of the month of October off to hunt grouse on the North Shore of Lake Superior. And then 10 days in Nov. in SD hunting pheasant with some other retired Navy and AF guys. Messed up year with everything going on this year and SD likely will not happen.

Pretty much all my friends are retired I am one of the few left working. They keep telling me retirement is the best job they have ever had. I keep telling them to shut up. Tuesday so shooting 5 stand tonight about an hours drive away and now I don't have to wonder if I am going to get off work in time or not to make it there when they start.

Sun will be up in an hour and I will start pulling weeds before it gets too hot. In the meantime can't work or at least not supposed to. Could clean the house but think I'll just have another cup of coffee instead.

Good morning all, the heat has arrived and delayed our monsoon season. Hope it doesn't get delayed too long, heat, wind and dry are not good combinations here.

    Stay safe everyone.

Good Morning Folks :hattip:. Plenty of rain yesterday and a fair amount of lightning. Rain helped to cool down the temperature but added to the humidity:facepalm:. I need to get the Tacoma in for an oil change and lube. I try to stay on top of it to prevent issues. I hope everyone has a great day and be safe. This covid from what is being said is coming around for a second time...Stay well.

    Good morning all,

Congrats Harry, it was time now you don't have the stress of it sitting there.

Beautiful morning going into a long five to seven days of high temps (for us anyway). They are predicting high 80's which never happens this high up. But with that comes Red Flag warnings and Stage 2 Fire Ban goes into effect today.

Have a great HUMP Day - be safe

Storming like crazy here. Lots and lots of rain. I took advantage of it to go around and see how the water is flowing and draining around the new garage and newly paved driveway. So far it looks pretty good.

Oh and while I was out I fired up the generator, so I could see things when I got back inside.

Still on generator power, sigh. Wife decided to cook at 9:00 at night. Women are from another planet I swear.

My wife didn't see the value of a generator when I brought it up, so I told her it would be for internet backup. I've learned to work the system, over the years.

I built our backup system from scratch. I have the knowledge, and time these days. Here's my post about it from another forum here on TW, if interested.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ions-i-need-some-advice.607858/#post-20558503

    It works great.
Today though, I would look at something like the Tesla PowerWall. That technology has surpassed the engine driven generator set. But it's still expensive as hell, and you need enough sun to run a few solar panels. I live in the woods, so.. The upside is, it's completely silent, no maintenance, and would add 20k+ value to any home. I'm sure some millennial would spring for it.

Good morning, everyone!! WE got some nice rain showers last evening. Nothing too strong but it soaked the ground. Much needed. Today I ill cut the grass down around the old farmhouse and the lake. Ahh, the retired life.

Morning youngsters :). Hope you all have a good day and be safe.

The weather guessers are calling for severe storms in my area tomorrow . We'll see what comes about. I just hope there is not a lot of thunder because it really bothers the Grand dog. He hides in the laundry room and won't even come out to eat. Gun fire, fireworks and thunder really bother him.

Good morning all, trash day - bear visit last night, CPW has a video of a bear opening a contractor's truck rear door for his lunch bucket down in the Springs yesterday. Springs neighborhoods near the Peak are having a lot of issues with hungry bears.

Only one forest fire yesterday - down near Canyon City off HW 50. They are working on controlling it.

    Have a great Thursday everyone.
