Good Morning folks. Calling for another hot day here. Stay hydrated if working out there.
Hi Tom, If you go to the "You" tab in the top right then go to the "preferences" section and check what you want for notifications. Hope this helps. Stay safe today. Next week it's supposed to be cooler(mid 80's) with less humidity :D. Have a good one.

My wife and I had a trip planned on the Rocky Mountaineer this September. The dates are cancelled and the company is offering 110% on our money if we book next year. I have been waiting on this deal before rebooking. As another bonus they are also offering another $200 in trip credit plus an additional night stay at the beginning or end of the trip. We already had a $200 credit and another night from our current trip plus we added a 2nd day in Vancouver when we booked last year. So we will have $400 in trip credit plus 3 extra days in Vancouver. Then there is the extra 10% and we will probably up the hotel accommodations. The trip is looking good so far.

I’m hoping to join the retirement club end of this year or March 2021 at the latest Unless I get some great deal working from home I can’t turn down (thankful to be working from home now until Sept). So I thought I’d drop in on this thread. :D
It’s been hot around 90’s here in NC but I’ve managed to do a fog light mod and keyless entry mod to my SR Access cab working in the cooler morning hours. Want to install a Tonneau cover next but waiting for a little cooler weather to do that one.

I decided a long time ago that after I retired that I would never rejoin the work force. It would take a lot to compel me to do so - like a court order from a Judge. If I had to work to make a motorhome payment - it would be sold. If I had to work to make a boat payment, - it would be sunk. A high maintance o' lady? she'd be walking. Life is just too short.

Check to see if you have email notifications turned on. I'm not sure if it is able to be set on a per-thread basis but that would be cool. And @tcBob is pretty good at cool features! ;)

Good morning, all! First service completed on the truck yesterday and I got to give it a good 200 mile workout of mixed highway, back roads and city driving. I was amazed at the mpgs I got on the way home - decided to check it after filling up as I left the dealership. I'll be happy if I can maintain this - still only 2100 miles on the truck.

Yes they have started to work again. I did check earlier and all of the box that needed to be checked seemed to be OK. Maybe the process of looking at the notifiction section activated the service. TY for checking, I appreciate the help.

For the last 3 weeks I have been working on a small project out back by my patio. I claimed a section of the patio for my 3 grills and a flat top. The wind was a problem with the flat top so I decided to build a one panel wind screen. At 70 YO projects take longer and the shortage of wood was a real PITA. This actually was a fun little project but it did involve lifting and setting stone. Setting the posts was different for me. I purchased two of the preformed Sakrete 10 in diameter cylinders and sunk them into the ground, set the posts and mixed/poured the concrete into the cylinders. The mixing of the concrete was the hardest part of the project on my body. Your back is used quite a bit in the mixing process. So the wall is up the rock is laid in the sand base. All I need to do now is hang a lot of BBQ paraphrenia on the wall. I am going to try and do that this afternoon. Today is my Meals on Wheels delivery day so I need to see how I feel after I return home.20200726_100954.jpg 20200726_101007.jpg

    Good Morning All!

Your project turned out looking good Tom. Agreed on projects taking longer when your older. Be careful and be safe.

Good morning all, long four days. Friday we drove down to Fort Worth to pick up a new golden puppy. Spent the night at a hotel 15 minutes from the breeder so we could get the puppy and race back home - 12.5 hours each way. The original plan was to fly but no way so we (wife and two dogs) took a long road trip. Took my wife's 2019 4-Runner not my new Taco - more room for the dogs on such a long trip.

Hope everyone is safe and had a great weekend - yes, we wore masks everywhere even when most Texans were not. Everyone in CO and NM wore masks but when we crossed into TX that seemed to stop ????

    Impressive numbers.

It would be interesting to see your calculated mpg compared with the displayed numbers. My experience with 2 vehicles with displayed mpg is that they are optimistic by several percent.

Thanks Ken. Getting ready to hang some grill paraphrenia on the inside wall.

Could be why Texas is one of the leading states with infections and deaths, but I am not going to judge them, besides it really does not affect me. Congrats on the new pup! I am sure someone will want pictures, including me.
