Amigo was an adopted kitten as well. He is now 15 years old and slowed down quite a bit. The animal rescue we rescued him from had found a litter in a trash dumpster. I am not sure if the mother went into the trash dumpster to have the litter of if someone put them there. I choose to believe the mother had them in the dumpster. He defiantly is my bud!

Welcome to the thread. Beverages are in the cooler to your right and there is a coffee pot next to the cooler. Post up a pic or two of your truck if you have them.

Good morning all - puppy sitting now that my wife had to go back to work - her puppy leave is over.

Welcome @Tracktorman retirement does take some getting used to - I was still hoping to work a few more years on my own terms but the Vid made the retirement decision for me. I have the luxury of working for myself the last ten years so it was easy to take work as I wanted versus 'having' to.

Have a great day everyone - stay safe

Being one month into retirement, this is one of lifes greatest stress reliefs. For years, every weekend project had to carefully planned out in all regards, including when the sun rose and set, to have it it finished before sunday night. Also, after thirty five years of "working for the weekend", I came to find that doing some things on weekends are to be avoided, as some places are filled with crowds, noise and traffic. Dose anybody else find this so?

I am 100% with you. Weekends now are just for relaxing. We don't go to the store or plan projects for those days.

Yep one of the things we learned when we retired was don’t leave home on the weekends. Thats when all the working people have to get done what they can’t during the week. It’s got to be an emergency for us to go to a retail establishment on a weekend.
The one habit I don’t seem to be able to change is getting up early. I wake up, get up between 5:30 and 6:15am. Doesn’t matter if I go to bed late or early. I started going into the office extra early many years ago before phones started ringing, before people started coming into my office with their problems and complaints. I got so much work done before people arrived. My circadian rhythm got set back then and now I think my circadian clock spring is broken. Oh well I am a morning person and like peaceful early mornings (as long as I have my coffee)

I still get up around 5:30 in the morning. I tend to do outside work before 10:00 because after 10:00 it is usually too hot for me to work in comfortably. I was outside weeding at 07:30 this morning, in the shade. Ran 3 errands after that and then worked inside the rest of the day.

Been retired now for 6 1/2 years from full time and 3 years from my partime driving gig. After being on a schedule for my many working years I have settled into a do whatever routine. Coffee is the most important part of the day. Just enjoy life and set your own routines. Enjoy.

Enjoying a cup o joe right now. :pccoffee: 6:30 and the litter box is changed, laundry is started, trash is out and bird seed is staged for replenishment. Going on VACATION to the Michigan Thumb tomorrow hopefully my view the next 12 days will be this.

Good morning Susan! You are going to enjoy retirement.

When this thread got started I was a pup in my early 50's and my Tacoma was 5 years old. Now it's 14 years old and I'm 62. Retirement is on the horizon and I plan to drive the Taco off into the sunset.

Have a great vacation Tom. Enjoy the view and most importantly, be safe. Enjoy.

Hey Charlie, I was 62 when I started the thread. A lot of good folks have past through, many stayed others past through or were hit with the ban hammer but still a great group here. Welcome to the porch. Enjoy.

    Good morning all,

Yes, weekends are for those that have changed since being retired - have a few errands today before Friday (that is part of the weekend here due to camper traffic up the hill each weekend.

Have a great and safe day everyone - I truly think our world has lost it's mind - just sayin - got to walk the puppy then the boys.
