Happy Saturday (retirees). Another hot one here in Northern central California, 111 degrees today. Day 6 of a 10 plus day heat wave. I’ve cancelled all outdoor plans that take place after 9:00am. Can’t really complain since Death Valley California yesterday was 130 degrees Fahrenheit which the weather service said was highest recorded on earth at a place called Furnace Creek. They are cooling down today to 125.
Thank goodness we had a new air conditioner installed (house is only 8 years old) last year and just had it checked and tuned. Another day of reading and watching movies. Stay cool ya all.

Always welcome to sit on the porch...but newbies have to fill the cooler. I started here years before I was "eligible". Good folks, here. Except me, of course.

Or, don't forget those that the virus won't go away.... been reading stories of folks with moderate to semi-severe symptoms that think they're getting better, only to have the symptoms return again and again.

    He's not a mod...

Pic when done. I have always enjoyed staining. simple process that does not take a long time. Just be mindful of splatter on to the house. I usually tape some type of heavy paper from the deck to about a foot up on the house to catch the splatter.

This is what the wife and I have done around the yard during the past 4 days. We still have 7 large holly trees to do this weekend.

I see all that green grass and remember the days (and days) of mowing when we lived in Ohio! Three times every two weeks, 3/4 acre....... lots of miles.

I have 2 acres of frontage to mow.. every 4 days for years. Bought a mower with mulching blades with my Trumpski handout :D, now mow every 2-3 weeks, due somewhat to the hotter than normal summer, but still..

I mow about 7 acres - luckily this year has been dry and I've gotten away with cutting about every 1.5 weeks or so. I enjoy it though - listen to music and mow away.

My project for the day was to prep and stain our front porch deck - replaced the old wood with Aeratis Traditions 3 1/8" tongue-in-groove composite decking. I really like the decking - we couldn't find a composite in the old color we had stained the wood - this stuff comes unstained and you can make it any color you want. And, if you use one of the paints they recommend, they reimburse you the cost of the stain/paint. We used Sherwin Williams SuperDeck stain and it covered really well. I put on two coats today - may put on a thin 3rd coat in the morning just for durability.

Looks great Mark. I like the color choice.
